  The mediatisation of professional groups

  Les groupes professionnels font l'objet d'une médiatisation croissante, tant dans les médias traditionnels que sur l'internet, notamment à la faveur des blogs et des réseaux sociaux. Ce processus de publicisation et de sémiotisation leur offre une tribune providentielle, mais dans le même temps il bouscule leur capacité à produire une image cohérente et positive, en termes de contrôle des informations et de maîtrise des apparitions publiques. Dès lors, cette journée d'étude interrogera le rôle et la place des médias dans la représentation des collectifs de travail, mais aussi dans la construction des rhétoriques et des identités professionnelles. Elle mobilisera des approches disciplinaires et des terrains d'enquête aussi variés que possible, pour analyser la mise en récit du monde du travail sous toutes ses formes : information, communication, publicité, auto publication en ligne, etc.

  Practices of writing in Cistercian abbeys (12th century – mid-16th century)

  Produce, exchange, control, conserve

  La célébration en 2015 du neuvième centenaire de la fondation de Clairvaux donne l’occasion de soumettre la diversité du monde cistercien au prisme de ses productions d’écriture, en resserrant l’examen sur l’écrit « pragmatique ». Ce colloque international se focalisera sur l’écrit diplomatique, administratif et de gestion, sans exclure des incursions dans les domaines comptable, épistolaire ou liturgique. Le périmètre de l’étude englobera les monastères cisterciens d’hommes et de femmes dans l’ensemble de l’Occident entre le XII^e et le milieu du XVI^e siècle.

  4th International Encounters in Art and Design

  ESAD Reims’ new research programme “Artist-run spaces: new forms of artistic production?” will be the focus of the 4th International Encounters of Art and Design, which will be held in Reims on 24 October 2013. Artists’ collectives such as the artist-run spaces that have sprung up around the world are an excellent example of artists’ amazing ability to invent their own economy and establish networks in an interconnected world. These spaces are structures that allow artists to use technology and collaborative arrangements to organise and control how their works are produced, distributed, reviewed and sold internationally.

  Tacitus and Tacitism in Europe in the early modern era (16th-18th century)

  The writing of history and the conception of power

  Even if Tacitus was not totally unknown during the medieval period, the publication in Venice of the editio princeps of his works around 1470 and then, in 1515, the first edition of the Annales with the recently rediscovered first six books, marked the beginning of a real fascination for the Roman historian, for his approach to history, his style, and even more so, for his political lessons. All over Europe numerous editions of his books, in Latin or in translation, were published, as well as critical commentaries and political treaties that all claimed, under various forms, to be inspired by the ideas of Tacitus, thus giving birth to “Tacitism”.
