  The Portuguese-speaking work, reflections on a concept

  C'est un séminaire organisé par le groupe de travail sur les Migrations Lusophones (URMIS - Paris 7) depuis 2014 qui discute l’immigration « lusophone » en France et dans le monde, les liens entre les populations « lusophones » en France (portugais, cap-verdiens, guinéens, angolais etc.), l’espace géopolitique construit par les pays de langue officielle portugaise et les réalités construites à travers les échanges culturels accélérés par les flux migratoires actuels dans ces contextes. Les membres du Groupe, qui appartiennent à différents laboratoires et universités, travaillent sur des données empiriques récentes dans le cadre de projets de master, doctorat, post-doctorat, etc. inscrits dans les réseaux internationaux de recherche.

  Call for papers - Political studies

  Immigration in the Electoral Rhetoric of the Americas

  While immigration has always been an important issue in the election debates, the current centrality of this topic invite us to question its rhetoric power (evocative terms, objectives pursued, instrumental efficiency…). Beyond the political scenes of Canada and United States (main arenas), will also be considered critical readings of electoral experiences in the Latin-American political world. This workshop will aim to shed the light on this matter in order to question (through politics, sociology, economics, law, history…) the reminiscence of what seems to be a modern form of identity resurgence in a specific framework: the electoral arena campaign, a real national trajectory catalyst.
