  "The Balfour Declaration" : What centenary

  In order to address this notorious Declaration, we propose a debate on the historical, political and geostrategic circumstances that led to the Balfour Declaration, and how  practical  politics  influences the making of Britain’s foreign policy. The Balfour Declaration and its ramifications at the local and global levels could be tackled with reference to a myriad of theoretical frameworks such as the postcolonial/political theory, new historicism, ethnography, to name but a few.

  Measurement in Customs and Tax administrations in Emerging and Developing Countries

  L’Organisation mondiale des douanes, la Banque mondiale et les Douanes algériennes organisent un atelier de recherche sur les usages de la quantification dans les administrations douanières et fiscales des pays émergents et en développement. Les objectifs sont de promouvoir la recherche appliquée, encourager les practiciens à relater leurs expériences en la matière d'une part et d'autre part approfondir l’analyse de la quantification comme technique de gouvernement lorsqu’elle s’applique à l’impôt, à l’aide de plusieurs disciplines (anthropologie, droit, économie, histoire, science politique, sociologie).
