  Mobilizing Voters in the United States and the United Kingdom: political strategies from parties and grassroots organizations (1867 – 2017)

  Following two different and yet complementary approaches (one from the top down with parties and the other from the bottom up with grassroots organizations), we propose to compare how potential voters have been appealed to, through the use of different strategies and tools of communication”. Whether it be organizations or parties, it will be interesting to analyze how these groups either (re)connect citizens with politics or give birth to social movements which durably occupy the political landscape of the United States and the United Kingdom. Common features may be observed along with distinct approaches particularly adapted to the specificity of each country concerned.

  Berggebiete als globale Zulieferer: Neue Formen regionaler Disparitäten zwischen Berggebieten und Metropolregionen

  Sozio-ökonomische Berggebietsforschung hat sich in der Vergangenheit zumeist mit der Beschreibung, Interpretation und dem Umgang mit Wirtschaftsschwäche und Bevölkerungsrückgang beschäftigt. Mit dem demnächst erscheinenden Themenheft zu neuen Einwanderern (editiert von Federica Corrado) zeichnen wir ein anderes Bild, das des sozio-demographischen Wachstums. Das neue Themenheft möchte beide Fragestellungen sowohl theoretisch als auch empirisch zusammenführen und damit einen Beitrag leisten zu Risiken und Chancen hochspezialisierter Berggebietsentwicklung. Dabei soll die Frage nach „spatial justice” (Edward Soja, 2010) aufgeworfen und nach potentiellen alternativen Entwicklungspfaden gesucht werden.

  First International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP)

  The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers from all over the world with an interest on public policy, to reinforce the exchanges between them and to participate to the update production of knowledge. During this conference, opportunities will be provided for both junior and senior researchers to present and discuss new research, theoretical, conceptual and methodological insights and empirical findings through a system of panels and workshops with audience participation and to discuss some common papers by a system of conference speakers and plenary discussions.

  Les frontières mobiles

  Bien que leur mort, ainsi que celle des territoires, ait été annoncée au début des années 1990, les frontières constituent toujours une réalité prégnante. Elles sont marquées toutefois par les processus constants de déterritorialisation / reterritorialisation et d’ouverture / fermeture (« debordering / rebordering ») qui les sélectionnent, les re-hiérarchisent mais aussi qui les rendent plus diverses dans leurs formes et leurs matérialisations. Ainsi, l’inscription spatiale de la frontière est de plus en plus difficile à définir, ce qui constituera le cœur du questionnement de notre colloque. Différentes tendances sont en effet à l’œuvre, qui produisent des frontières plus mouvantes, plus ouvertes ou plus floues.

  Immigration and Integration in Europe

  Assessment and Prospects

  Aujourd’hui la plupart des pays d’Europe accueillent des immigrés dont une partie conséquente provient de pays situés en dehors de l’Union européenne et en dehors du continent. L’avenir semble propice à la poursuite d’une forte immigration vers cette zone.Le monde d’aujourd’hui permet ainsi plus que jamais l’affirmation d’appartenances multiples, au risque de générer des contradictions dans les divers processus d’affiliation et de produire des tensions entre les minorités et les majorités qui les environnent. Dans un tel contexte, il apparaît nécessaire de penser l’immigration et l’intégration sur des bases théoriques différentes. Tel est l'objet de ce colloque.
