  Soft Law Research (Solar) Network

  Financed by the European Commission, the Academic Network of Soft Law Research (SoLaR) aims at stimulating the debate between academics and practitioners on the national role of EU soft law. SoLaR asks whether and how non-binding EU instruments are used bynational administrations when implementing EU policies and bynational courts when ruling in cases falling within the scope ofapplication of EU law. This final event will present the results of the project (to be published by Bloomsbury as an edited collection in 2020), introduce the policy recommendations and discuss follow-upactivities

  The effectiveness of environmental law

  Third European Environmental Law Forum Conference

  The European Environmental Law Forum is a non-profit initiative of environmental law scholars and practitioners from across Europe aiming to support intellectual exchange on the development and implementation of international, European and national environmental law in Europe. The general topic of the conference is: "The Effectiveness of Environmental Law" including all relevant aspects of making environmental law work. Within the framework of the overarching topic, here are the following issues we propose for 3rd EELF Conference : definition, reasons and assessment of the (in)effectiveness of environmental law; designing effective norms; human rights to improve the protection of the environment; monitoring the implementation of environmental law; incentives; sanctions

  After-Fukushima, a franco-japanese overview

  It aims at understanding the political, social and especially legal consequences related to the Fukushima nuclear accident. Its goal consists in developing a global vision of these consequences by comparing how risk is being perceived both in Japan and in France at the occasion of this collaboration between French and Japanese researchers. What are the legal  and social policies as regards nuclear power  in France and in Japan ? Do both populations perceive differently the related risks?  Does the  Fukushima nuclear accident change mentalities ? What are the legal consequences of this accident and will they have any impact on international law and French law ? What could have been the legal consequences of such a drama in France ? Trying to answer these questions will enable us to better identify the current perception of nuclear risk both in France and in Japan.

  Diffuser les données de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. Questions de droits et d'éthique 2

  Produire, utiliser, éditer des sources numériques fait aujourd'hui partie du travail quotidien du chercheur. Ce format numérique, comme le développement du web, a facilité grandement la diffusion des ressources documentaires iconographiques, sonores et/ou audiovisuelles dans le monde de la recherche et, au-delà, auprès de citoyens de plus en plus curieux et intéressés par les documents produits par les scientifiques. L'essor du libre-accès qui se développe aujourd'hui incite par ailleurs à ce que des données réputées « publiques » soient réellement rendues publiques. Les institutions doivent savoir répondre aux questions de respect des droits des auteurs et des personnes interrogées ou représentées que posent leurs projets de mise à disposition de ressources en libre accès tandis que les chercheurs, qui publient désormais régulièrement en ligne, se trouvent confrontés à des séries de questions juridiques et éthiques auxquelles ils ne savent pas toujours répondre.
