  Neoliberalism in the Anglophone World

  This conference aims at presenting a critical overview of issues related to neoliberalism in the Anglophone world. It will be broad in scope by covering British, American and the other English-speaking areas, as well as the fields of civilisation, literature and linguistics, while maintaining a thematic focus on the concept of neoliberalism from international and interdisciplinary perspectives.

  Scotland, Europe and Empire in the Age of Adam Smith and Beyond

  Hosted by the Centre Roland Mousnier, the ECSSS (Eighteenth-Century Scottish Studies Society) and the International Adam Smith Society will hold a conference at the Sorbonne in Paris, from the 3rd to the 6th of July 2013. The theme of the conference will be : Scotland, Europe and Empire in the Age of Adam Smith and Beyond. The conference will tackle the question of the role of Scotland and Adam Smith’s thought in the constitution of the British Empire (and the other empires) during the Eighteenth Century, from America to Asia.

  Les relations anglo-américaines sont abordées le plus souvent dans le cadre de l’histoire des relations internationales et de la diplomatie. Nous proposons de les étudier plutôt à travers l’histoire de projets internationaux, qu’ils relèvent du commerce et des affaires ou qu’ils poursuivent des objectifs politiques ou réformateurs au sens large.

  La loi de 1898 sur les accidents du travail et l’émergence de la tarification des corps en Europe

  Le programme de recherche « Histoire des risques et des accidents industriels, France, Grande-Bretagne, fin XVIIe – fin XIXe siècle » propose de réfléchir à la loi de 1898 sur les accidents du travail, en l'intégrant dans une perspective comparative et de long terme. Cette journée d'étude a pour but de nourrir les réflexions actuelles sur les douleurs de l'industrie, tant au sein des espaces de travail que dans l'environnement extérieur aux lieux de fabrication.
