  Troisième symposium étudiant international sur l'histoire du crime

  Le troisième Symposium on the History of Crime est un forum ouvert aux étudiants pour leur permettre d’explorer les problématiques liées à l’histoire du crime. Ce symposium annuel a vocation à rassembler des doctorants, des docteurs, des étudiants en master ainsi que des enseignants-chercheurs en début de carrière dans un environnement académique accueillant et amical propice à la discussion et au débat. Les deux premières éditions de ce symposium se sont déroulées en Angleterre. La troisième édition réunira à Paris des étudiants venus des États-Unis, d’Angleterre et de France. Nous donnons au Symposium on the History of crime une portée volontairement large et une dimension transdisciplinaire en mêlant des thématiques et des sujets divers. L’objectif est d’encourager les jeunes chercheurs à participer et à présenter, en anglais, leurs recherches sur le crime, l’histoire du crime et le droit pénal.

  As a part of the “French-German doctorate program of comparative public law” and “HeiParisMax”, the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne organizes a colloquium about digital surveillance and cyber spying in a french-german perspective. The colloquium takes place on September 23th, 2016 in Paris and intends to gather junior researchers in particular in the field of legal sciences who deal with digital surveillance and cyber spying.

  Polices et ordre public en France et en Angleterre (1750-1850)

  Les perspectives de l’historiographie contemporaine

  Traditional historiography has often opposed the French police model to its English counterpart. However, for twenty years, many researchers relativized the differences of these models and focused more on the interactions between cultures of social control. Recent studies have shown the limits of approaches focused on the only national police models as well as the importance of the circulation of police knowledge and technics in the late 18th century and early 19th century. Everywhere in Europe, this period is marked by the will to reform and by reflections on the procedures for the exercise of the police. Through a panel of international researchers, the conference aims to investigate beyond the national perspective by questioning the permanence and changes in police practices on both sides of the Channel. We will ultimately highlight the major trends of contemporary historiography and identify new paths of work.

  Les animaux et l'histoire de la France

  French History is seeking contributions, in French and English, for a special issue on "Animals in French History," edited by Christopher Pearson (Liverpool) and Peter Sahlins (UC Berkeley). Proposals for articles should bring together theory and original empirical research that draws on new ways of studying animals and animal-human relations in France since the Renaissance.

  Word of experts in transnational case-law

  « South Asian Culture à la barre » est la première réunion d’une section du projet ANR « JUST-INDIA » (http://www.just-india.net) consacrée aux conflits de droit dans les cas judiciaires transnationaux. Les participants à la journée examineront comment les tribunaux de différents pays s’approprient la notion de culture lorsqu’ils sont amenés à se prononcer dans des cas impliquant des ressortissants d’Asie du Sud, et quel est le rôle de cette notion dans les procédures judiciaires correspondantes. Les exposés et les discussions seront en anglais.
