Life between construction and destruction: Forms, rules and norms
Aside from the biological processes to which it is subjected from birth to death, human existence is characterized by the permanent effort all individuals and groups make to influence and control these processes, in order to live together. Whether occurring during a rite of passage or whether part of the interactions of everyday life, this construction invites us to question the various manners forms are made – be them “Life Forms” or “Forms of Life” – by carefully looking at the diversity of processes through which norms and rules become established .

Sports, genders and sexualities
Social, Ethical and Political Challenges
As expressions of cultural embodiment, sexualities, genders and sports can be analyzed as a mirror of societies’ transformations and developments. The analysis of sports, gender and sexuality can be a key to analyze changes and persistence's in social interactions and collective representations. This workshop seeks to create a discursive space for contributors to explore the social, ethical and political criticalities arising in the interaction between sports, gender and sexualities in contemporary societies. We invite papers aimed at both understanding the relationships between sports, genders and sexualities, and using them as a tool to analyse broader social, ethical and political transformations. As such, such, we hope to provide both critical evaluation of current theories and paradigms by which sport, gender and sexuality are understood and encourage the opening of new horizons for critical investigations.

Doing Empirical Research on Sexual Diversities: Methodological and Ethical Challenges
CFP INSEP2013 - Special Session
This session is part of the INSEP2013 Conference – The Value(s) of Sexual Diversity. The conference focuses on the legal, political and ethical boundaries of diverse sexualities, “troubling” current assumptions, dispositions and claims for the boundaries between legitimacy and illegitimacy in diverse sexual identities, sub‐cultures and practices in both national and international contexts. We welcome paper proposals reflecting on the ethical and methodological criticalities associated with doing empirical research on sexual diversities and (in) sexual (sub)cultures.
