  Geography and Religious Knowledge in the Medieval World (1150–1550)

  In the premodern world, geographical knowledge was heavily influenced by religious ideas and beliefs. The conference seeks to analyse, how the religious character of geographic knowledge in the period from ca. 1150 to 1550 lingered on in classical as well as new forms of (re)presenting geography.

  Un appel à contribution est lancé pour un colloque international « Religions et territoire », organisé à l'occasion de la rencontre Eurel, réseau scientifique de juristes ou spécialistes des sciences sociales et humaines des religions, par l'UMR 7012 PRISME-SDRE et le Centre for Research. / Papers are invited for an international conference jointly organized by the Eurel network of sociologists and legal scholars of religion (www.eurel.info, led by the research centre PRISME-SDRE UMR 7012, University of Strasbourg), and CRESC (Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change, University of Manchester).

  Les abbayes martiniennes en Europe

  Le paysage monastique en Occident au IVe siècle fut lié, sans exclusive, à la personnalité de Martin de Tours : la fortune de la spiritualité martinienne, ses liens avec les grandes abbayes médiévales de Cluny ou Fleury et le devenir sur la longue période des abbayes martiniennes en France et en Europe sont autant de directions d'étude pour le colloque qui se tiendra à Tours en novembre 2008.
