The present conference aims to examine the devastating impacts of Covid-19 pandemic on gender equality and quality education, two sustainable goals identified by the UN, and the kind of responses which were triggered as forms of activism, self-expression, and creation of new meanings. Furthermore, it explores the prospects which may be unlocked for future professionals through learning different skills and values which foster equal opportunities for both genders in leadership and in the labour market, eventually and hopefully resulting in an equitable, unbiased, and fair labour culture for all.

Accepting papers that investigate this subject from a wide array of perspectives, from biopolitics and bioethics, to technology, ecology, education, (geo)political conflicts, and more, this aims to be an interdisciplinary, comparative issue with a focus on the humanities understood broadly.

The Centre Walras-Pareto is organizing a workshop on the history of wages. The workshop will take place at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), 29-30 September 2016. Much has been written on wages within economics. In his classical account of the history ofwage theory, Dunlop (1957) refers to three time-periods: the wage-fund theory domination,the rise of marginal productivity distribution theory, and the “contemporary setting”, startingin the 1930s and characterized by a diversity of theoretical arguments; but much has changed.

Workplace democracy: arguments, policies, practices
While democracy is usually taken for granted within the political sphere, it usually draws less attention in the economic realm and our societies tolerate highly undemocratic forms of economic organizations, which prompts many questions: How is it possible to question this asymmetry? Does justice require democracy in the workplace? How can we make sense of democratic ideals within economic organizations? Is it possible to draw an analogy between states and business firms? Which institutional forms can workplace democracy take? What are the best theoretical frameworks to articulate the ideals of workplace democracy? This international conference aims to bring together experts in political philosophy, business ethics, sociology, history, political science, economy and management around these issues.

Work on screen: social memories and identities through cinema
Since the early 20th century, work in contemporary societies has suffered several processes of change, which, in the context of the current economic and employment crisis, demand equating the structuring of social identities that are built and modified through work. During this period, cinema has been a privileged vehicle for the creation and dissemination of representations on work and, therefore, the shaping of social memories. This international and multidisciplinary seminar aims at gathering and discussing contributions that analyse the social processes involved in the formation of work identities and representations through cinema. It welcomes papers that highlight the main continuities and discontinuities of work memory narratives from the early 20th century to the present days, based on the analysis of specific films or bodies of films (both documentaries and fictions) and their reception.

L’employé devient ainsi la figure sociale de la modernité urbaine, qui témoigne aussi du rôle croissant de la femme dans ce secteur professionnel. Le colloque The office as an interior (1880-1960) aborde l’essor du travail administratif entre 1880 et 1960 à travers l’analyse de l’émergence d´un espace nouveau, le bureau, qui par ses arrangements contribue à la diffusion de nouvelles formes de sociabilité et réalise des nouveaux modes d’organisation du travail.

Le/la post-doc que nous recrutons sur un poste à 80% participera durant 3 ans au projet financé par le fonds national Suisse de la recherche scientifique (dirigé par la prof. Mathilde Bourrier): « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic ». Il/Elle travaillera plus particulièrement sur les deux composantes du projet portant sur les facteurs organisationnels et communicationnels de la gestion de la pandémie, en Suisse, aux États-Unis et au Japon. La personne recherchée a obtenu son doctorat en sociologie ou en anthropologie depuis moins de 3 ans, d'excellentes capacités à mener des terrains de recherche dans plusieurs pays, et d'un intérêt marqué pour les questions de santé globale (global health).

Vecteur de renouvellement des relations entre univers de formation et de travail ?
Ce colloque a pour buts : - d’identifier et décrire les connaissances et les expériences relatives à la RVAE à travers différents axes thématiques. Il s’agira de s’interroger, en termes de distance et de rupture, sur les parcours individuels (candidats, professionnels de l’accompagnement, membres de jurys, etc.) singuliers et collectifs au sein d’une société en constante évolution et sur les contraintes qu’elle fait peser sur eux ; - d’articuler et analyser les résultats rapportés de ces problématisations et expérimentations de façon à identifier l’intérêt d’une perspective comparée des approches et des méthodologies utilisées dans les différents espaces locaux, nationaux et internationaux ; - de tirer les enseignements de ces analyses pour les confronter à des propositions, à même de structurer de futures collaborations, sous forme de programmes internationaux. La psychothérapie en Europe. Spécificités nationales et tendances communes
On observe actuellement un puissant mouvement d’homogénéisation de toutes les enjeux qui concerne « la psychothérapie » (catégorie qui inclut la psychanalyse), qu’il s’agisse de ses usages, de ses théories et méthodes, des questions professionnelles. Le colloque vise à comprendre à la fois ce mouvement d’homogénéisation et la recomposition d’identités psychothérapeutiques nationales. La première journée sera dédiée à « La psychothérapie au croisement de questions anthropologique et institutionnelles », la seconde à « Politiques de santé mentale et régulation de la pratique psychothérapeutique » -

Colloque international de clôture de l'équipe ANR « Formasynd »
Les communications devront s’inscrire dans trois axes principaux de réflexion. L’un porte sur la construction et la mise en œuvre de dispositifs de formation dans lesquels les enjeux de la syndicalisation, et plus largement de la diversification des publics-cible du syndicalisme, sont posés. Le second interroge les usages individuels et collectifs qui peuvent être faits de ces formations. Le troisième oriente le regard sur la circulation des savoirs entre les organisations syndicales et d’autres champs de réflexion sur le salariat, le travail et les relations professionnelles. Seventeenth annual workshop of the European Research Network on Transitions in Youth
Le réseau européen sur l’insertion des jeunes (Transition in Youth Network) a pour objectif de faire avancer les connaissances théoriques et empiriques sur l’insertion des jeunes en Europe et dans le monde. Le dix-septième Workshop en septembre 2009 sera organisé à l’Université de Bourgogne et plus précisément à l'IREDU (UMR 5225) sur le thème de différents risques auxquels doivent faire face les jeunes sur le marché du travail. Les questions de flexibilité, de précarité et de mauvaises adéquations entre formation et emploi seront centrales, même si d'autres thèmatiques peuvent être proposées. Appel à communications pour le 24 avril (langue de travail du workshop : anglais).
