  Economic policies and strategies in the Medieval Atlantic city

  Nájera. 17th International Meetings of the Middle Ages

  International Meetings of the Middle Ages in Nájera have been proposed as an international congress in the field of study and dissemination of Medieval History since 2003. The theme for this year’s meetings is Economic policies and strategies in the Medieval Atlantic City. Atlantic city, arose in the Middle Ages, was based on a series of key factors -such as the geographical features, infrastructures and very dynamic societies-, but also because urban policies adopted, in those peripheral cities due to its geographical location, some common and different characteristics from the cities of the interior of the continent, whose economic policies and strategies we are proposing to analyze in this conference.

  Les milieux populaires dans la ville médiévale européenne

  This Academic Meetings seek to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of all aspects of medieval studies. Each conference has one particular special thematic strand on an area of interdisciplinary study in a wider context. The topic of this year is about ‘The commons in the european medieval city’. We will analize: the terminology of urban popular groups: Commons, people, community, etc. ; levels of fortune ; the social and geographical mobility ; work and social identity ; political participation ; urban revolts.

  The Monastery of Oña, 1011-2011

  Conmemoración del milenario de la fundación del Monasterio de San Salvador de Oña (1011-2011). El pasado 12 de febrero se conmemoraba el milenario de la fundación del monasterio de San Salvador de Oña (Burgos). Al ser desde su origen panteón condal y luego real ha contado desde sus inicios con un considerable apoyo del poder establecido. Esos hechos han posibilitado que el patrimonio histórico-artístico acumulado sea un de los más señalados de la Corona de Castilla.

  The Cry of Freedom. Voices and Silences of Antiquity to the Present

  IV International Congress of Historical Reflection.

  The Institute of Ancient and Medieval History at the University of Buenos Aires, the organization of the IV International Congress of Historical Reflection "The cry of freedom. Voices and Silences of antiquity to today" commemorates the May Revolution that marked the path to independence in Argentina, Participate Argentine and European researchers will present issues related to the pursuit of freedom through the various cycles of history.
