  Image, Cinema & Politics: the Avant-Garde Dilemma in the Interwar Period (1918-1936)

  In this publication we would like to explore the relation between the post-1918 crisis of the liberal system and the use of art and image as political media including its nationalist, gender and class discourses since they reflect the political and economic transformations of the post-war years. Art and cinema allow us to observe processes such as accelerated urbanisation, electrification and the automobile revolution, the incorporation of women into the waged- labour market or class struggles, all of which fed the insecurity and anxiety of industrialised societies which sought shelter in growing protectionism and corporatism.

  Les XIV^e journées Complutenses d'art médiéval proposent d'aborder la question de la matérialité comme facteur essentiel de la production artistique, ainsi que la poétique de l'immatérialité et la dimension intangible de l'expérience esthétique au cours du Moyen Âge. Les propositions de communication autour des thèmes suivants sont bienvenues : conditions matérielles de la création artistique ; pratiques et moyens sous-estimés ; utilisations poétiques et sémantiques du matériel et de l'immatériel ; histoire culturelle des matériaux ; sensorialité et immatérialité ; « transmatérialité » et « transmédialité ».

  Revista “La región central”, vol. 1 no. 1

  This first issue of La región central explores the idea of intervention: reciprocal interventions between cinema and contemporary art, but also interventions on the social sphere that may help think the political dimension of contemporary art practices. We propose a monographic issue attending to the political dimension of cinema and contemporary art relations through theoretical and more practical, case oriented critical approaches. We seek to interrogate not just the textual dimensions or phenomenological frames of apprehension of moving images, but also their poetics of production and their potential to critically intervene the social sphere.

  Operas primas del cine español e iberoamericano contemporáneo (1990-2009)

  Colloque coordonné par Nancy Berthier (Université de Paris Est, LISAA EA 4120, France) et Álvaro A. Fernández Reyes (Université de Guadalajara, Mexique) et organisé par l’Université de Paris-Est (EMHIS-LISAA EA 4120), en collaboration avec le REDIC (Red de Investigadores de cine), l’Université de Guadalajara (Mexique), le Colegio de España et le soutien du GRIMH. Ce colloque en espagnol réunit des chercheurs français, mexicains et espagnol autour de la notion de "ópera prima" (premier film), qu'il interroge à partir d'un corpus de documentaires et de fictions récentes (années 90 et 2000) et selon des axes théoriques et métodologiques diversifiés. Un cinéaste espagnol, Manuel Martin Cuenca, viendra présenter son "ópera prima", El juego de Cuba, le jeudi de 17h à 19h. Programme complet en document joint
