6th Colloquium on Crime and Criminal Justice in Early Modern and Modern Times
The colloquium provides an open forum for discussion, debate and the presentation of PhD-, postdocand other research projects related to the history of crime and justice in the early modern and modernperiod. It aims for an interdisciplinary exchange between scholars of a wide range of subjects suchas history, legal history, sociology, anthropology, ethnology, humanities, political science and others. Core issues that will be addressed are various forms of crime and delinquency, law and normativity, criminal prosecution and justice, punishment and social control as well as sources and methodicalapproaches. We also invite contributions of scholars who would like to enter into a dialogue with researchers from the field of crime and criminal justice even though the mentioned topics would onlyconstitute a part of the respective projects. The colloquium focuses on elites in a political, economic, social or cultural context, their role inthe administration of justice and the legal system as well as specific forms of deviance and delinquency of such groups.

By all measures, Germany played an overwhelming role in the development of philology and linguistics during the 19th century. This ascendancy rests on the transmission to other national academies of theoretical constructs and views, methods and institutional practices. On the other hand, German philological and linguistic ideas, methods and institutions were not constituted in isolation from the rest of the world : Transfers to the German-speaking world must also be taken into account.

Le colloque se propose de mieux cerner et de questionner le format de rouleau dans l’Europe de la fin du Moyen Âge. Utilisés à des fins administratives, liturgiques mais également historiographiques ou littéraires, les rouleaux présentent une grande variété de formes et de contenus qu’il s’agira de mettre en valeur. Cet appel à contribution s’adresse aux chercheurs et chercheuses intéressés par la matérialité de l’écrit médiéval et plus généralement par l’étude des manuscrits.

Les missions allemandes : leur liquidation et leur résilience 1914-1939
Ce 36e colloque du CREDIC s'inscrit dans le cycle des commémorations de la « Grande Guerre ». Quel a été son impact sur les missions chrétiennes allemandes, catholiques et protestantes, et sur les Églises et les œuvres locales suscitées par leur action ? Dès le déclenchement des hostilités les personnels missionnaires de nationalité allemande ont dû cesser leurs activités et quitter leurs postes. Leurs possessions et leurs instruments de travail ont été séquestrés ou réquisitionnés. La liquidation des missions allemandes n'a pas empêché l'héritage allemand de se faire sentir et parfois même d'être reconnu par les nouveaux maîtres des territoires. De plus, les sciences missionnaires allemandes déjà très avancées avant la guerre ont continué à se développer ; elles ont été entendues dans le débat international sur la mission à travers les grandes conférences missionnaires mondiales (Jérusalem 1928, Tambaram 1938) et dans le développement de la pensée missionnaire catholique. On peut parler de résilience des missions allemandes au-delà et à travers leurs tribulations.

An international conference on economic history dealing with the question "Regional producers or global players ?" will take place in Mainz on October 6-7 2014. Until now neglected, research on the economic history of the Rhineland-Palatine area will be presented. However, the conference is not limited on the history of this region - in fact, companies from this origin will be compared to producers from other regions and countries. The increasing internationalization of companies is currently an important field of research among historians. From the second half of the 19th century to World War I, the interdependence of the West European economy grew strongly. In the second half of the 20th century, we can observe another globalization push. We were able to win internationally renowned researchers for the papers. Saints and the City is an international, interdisciplinary workshop on urban holiness in pre-modern times in East and West. Graduates and young post-graduates will be able to present their researches as guests of the Erlangen Centre for European Medieval and Renaissance Studies IZEMIR and the DFG-Research Group "Holiness and Sanctification in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period. Intercultural Perspectives in Europe and Asia".
