Racisme environnemental et inégalités de santé

Le but de ce numéro de la revue Socioscapes est d’analyser de manière critique la relation entre le racisme, la santé et l’environnement, en particulier la relation entre le racisme environnemental et les inégalités de santé, l’imbrication des maux environnementaux avec les maux sociaux du racisme et du capitalisme, à travers la collecte d’études théoriques ou empiriques. Selon une perspective multidisciplinaire, ce numéro de la revue accueille des contributions de différents domaines d’études, y compris (mais sans s’y limiter) la sociologie, les sciences politiques, l’anthropologie, l’économie politique, la géographie, l’épidémiologie, la santé publique, les études urbaines et rurales, les études environnementales, les études sur la justice environnementale, la théorie raciale critique, critical race feminism, l’écologie politique, l’écoféminisme.

Le travail numérique : plus d’autonomie ou un nouvel assujettissement du travail ?

Les deux dernières décennies ont vu de profondes transformations du travail, tant dans le processus d’organisation du travail que dans le fonctionnement du marché du travail. Parmi celles-ci, la plus récente et la plus rapide est l’informatisation du travail, en particulier la numérisation du travail. Une nouvelle frontière s'est ainsi ouverte dans le domaine du travail et, en même temps, dans l’exploitation et la précarité du travail, que la crise sanitaire et socio-économique actuelle élargit de façon démesurée. La praxis et le mythe du "smart working" sont les signes visibles d’une dynamique planétaire de matrice capitaliste qui, une fois de plus, envisage la libération et l’humanisation possibles du travail salarié dans le cadre d’une nouvelle, peut-être plus radicale, aliénation, atomisation et subordination du travail salarié aux impératifs du marché et du profit.

New Ethnomusicological Perspectives From the Global South

This Symposium will explore how digital media and new technologies have affected the ways through which musicians, producers and researchers experiment and engage with "traditional" musical forms, in Colombia and in other parts of the world. The participants are invited to share their research results and methodological experimentations in the field of applied ethnomusicology, music pedagogy, performance, digital audio production or digital humanities about the study of the impact of digital technologies about current musical practices. This Symposium will also include the presence of several local musicians and producers who will conduct workshops on "traditional" Colombian music and music from other countries of the global South.

The 5th international congress “Sport, doping and society” is organized by the Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD) and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Under the theme “Think Clean”, there will be presented the results of scientific researches and new methodologies in the field of doping in sport from the specific perspective of Human and Social Sciences. We believe that this initiative will contribute to identify the factors that influence the use of doping substances and methods. From this knowledge we hope to foster future prevention and doping control and to promote ethical behavior in sport.

Class, Gender and Peacebuilding in Peru (1961-2014)

Según el historiador Franklin Pease, ‘hacer una historia de la subversión en el Perú con elemental seriedad, requiere disponer de información confiable, casi nunca al alcance del investigador’. Trabajar sobre grupos alzados en armas que se organizaron en el marco de la 'lucha de clases' desde los años 1960, es tarea difícil en la medida en que significa trabajar sobre la clandestinidad. Nombrar, investigar o repensar a grupos como el ‘Partido Comunista del Perú-Sendero Luminoso’ (PCP-SL) y el Movimiento Revolucionario Tupac Amaru (MRTA) supone un peligro para el investigador: ser llamado ‘terrorista’ es común en un medio donde el discurso oficial y el discurso académico han confluido para dar una versión única. This seminar is the first of a series of three talks which will take place in each of the cities explored. It offers a space for collaboration, reflection and exchanges where explorers, partners, associate members and other leading figures are invited to lend an outside perspective. It is an invitation both to reflect on the project itself and to promote a public discussion of its critical perspectives. For instance, what is “knowledge” for an artist, a researcher or an educator, and how is it constructed ? For what discourse and representations are artists, researchers in the humanities and educators responsible ? What research stance should be adopted to meet the challenges of interdisciplinarity and social space ? How do our disciplines of research, creation and social intervention revisit the historical motive for exploration and what relationship do they have with it ?

First International Symposium on Primitivism

The First International Symposium on Primitivism aims to shed new light on a debate that has been given little attention in the field of Humanities, and which focuses on the relationship between Art and the Primitive. The disciplinary foundation of these studies is in History and Art Theory. However, it is also necessarily interdisciplinary, to the extent that we are interested in understanding the aesthetic phenomena that constitute Western art, not only from the perspective of an artistic history, but also – and especially – from its imbrications with aesthetics, culture, society, and politics.
