  The question of technology is not often directly addressed by Merleau-Ponty and is rarelythematized as such. The philosopher does not explicitly elaborate what today we would define as aphilosophy of technology or a theory of techniques. And yet, this issue often appears in thebackground of his analysis and sometimes it even constitutes the pivot of his questioning of themutual implication of the sense and the sensible, nature and culture.

  Fondée en 1989, la Fondation scientifique de Florian Znaniecki prévoit la publication d’un volume faisant partie de la série de monographies sociologiques sous le titre provisoire « Contemporary migrations in the humanistic coefficient perspective. Florian Znaniecki’s thought in today’s science » (« Migrations contemporaines dans la perspective du coefficient humaniste. Pensée de Florian Znaniecki dans la science d’aujourd’hui »). Ainsi, la Fondation vous invite à soumettre des textes originaux rédigés en anglais, non publiés auparavant et consacrés à la présence de la pensée de Florian Znaniecki dans les études contemporaines sur les migrations.

  The Fourth Conference of the European Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction (EU SSSI)

  Conference on sociological social psychology, symbolic interactionism, and qualitative methods

  The Fourth Conference of the European Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction (EU SSSI) promises to become the largest conference on sociological social psychology, symbolic interactionism, and qualitative methods in Europe. The Conference Program includes 6 plenary sessions with keynote speakers, 24 regular sessions, and an Interdisciplinary Workshop on Ethnography. These will include special regular sessions organized by the partner departments at Uppsala University which will feature their disciplinary traditions in ethnographic studies and the use of qualitative methodology.
