    Global Art Market in the Aftermath of Covid-19

    The international scholarly open access journal Arts (ISSN 2076-0752) invites submissions for the Special Issue (to be published in 2021) on the topic of “Global Art Market in the Aftermath of Covid-19.” Original academic papers should answer the following research question: How has Covid-19 affected the global art market? We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions that reveal various economic, social, and political consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic for the current state and future evolution of the global art market.

    Dialogue as Global Action: Interacting Voices and Visions across Cultures

    3rd ESTIDIA Conference

    Ovidius University (Constanta, Romania), a modern and vibrant research university on the Black Sea coast, welcomes dialogue-oriented researchers and practitioners to be held on 25-26 September 2015 to the 3rd ESTIDIA Conference. The conference serves as a discussion forum for reserchers to showcase their dialogue-oriented work on current societal and community-related issues, and on methodological approaches to dialogue analysis. The aim is to bring together senior and junior schoolers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines and professional orientation to critically explore, through dialogue, different perspectives on human thinking, communication strategies, interpersonal relations, socio-cultural traditions, political processes and business interactions by means of theory-based and practice-driven investigations.

    International conference organized by the European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art, the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) and The Mesdag Collection, in conjunction with the exhibition on the artist, collector and gentleman-dealer Hendrik Willem Mesdag and the Dutch Watercolour Society, at The Mesdag Collection in The Hague, the publication on this illustrious artist and his different roles within the art world, and the digital reconstruction of the art collection owned by Mesdag, carried out by the Netherlands Institute for Art History.

    Denationalization and territory

    Ph.d. workshop with Saskia Sassen

    Professor Saskia Sassen will take part in a half-a-day international doctoral workshop, which will be the concluding act of a two-day long seminar on denationalisation and territory (7-8 May 2014). Such doctoral seminar aims at providing Ph.D students who work on issues related to globalisation a dynamic and informal space to present their work, receive inputs from discussants and participants and have a chance to discuss with one of the major sociologists in the field. The participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their research questions, to receive informed opinions and to meet other academics working on similar issues in different regional context.
