History and polemics: historiographical debates and the public space
Ever since history became an academic knowledge, historiographical debates have been exceptional moments of construction, condensation and dissensus, often resulting in historiographical turns. Controversies around specific themes have divided entire fields of knowledge production, bringing into light different, often contrasting conceptions, methodologies and practices of historical knowledge. Such debates were, at the same time, moments in which the description and interpretation of the past represented a public intervention in the present, in which the defense of a certain way of making sense of history was also a way of taking of sides in a specific contemporary political discussion. Historiographical polemics were therefore moments in which historiographical knowledge had to confront in the public space other approaches to the past, thus making visible, and challenging, the paradigms that rule the historical discipline and public history.

#MariellePresente - Resistencias transnacionales
La revista Cuadernos de Género y Diversidad, una revista feminista y queer del nordeste de Brasil, invita a todas y todos a presentar artículos, ensayos, entrevistas, diarios de campo, informes de experiencias y otros textos para el número especial "#MariellePresente: Resistencias transnacionales". Los textos deben describir y analizar las respuestas transnacionales tras el asesinato de la brasileña Marielle Franco. Ella era una mujer negra de la favela, activista política, feminista y lesbiana. Fue asesinada en la esquina de una calle en Río de Janeiro en marzo de 2018. Dada la naturaleza política de su asesinato, se organizaron muchas acciones para denunciar el crimen en todo el mundo.

Vilém Flusser, Walter Benjamin – The technical ambiguities

In different moments of his work, Walter Benjamin reflects upon the question of technology and related issues such as work as the mediation between man and nature, conducting his critical analysis of progress. He says: “What’s the idea? to speak of progress to a world sinking into the rigidity of death. (...) The concept of progress must be grounded in the idea of catastrophe. That things are 'status quo' is the catastrophe. It is not an ever-present possibility but what in each case is given.” Marxism will also be reviewed by him according to his critical conception of progress: “Marx said that revolutions are the locomotive of world history.

Ethics and social responsibility research
Following in the footsteps of its first edition in 2011, the 2nd Symposium on Ethics and Social Responsibility Research-2013 is intended to promote a dialogue between the research lines which converge in the quest for scientific understanding of the current challenges of ethics, sustainability and social responsibility in organizations. SESRR will also address the complexities of individual ethical decision-making processes in organizational settings. It aims not only to discuss theoretical models and empirical results, but also debating the organizational strategies and the intervention practices in these areas, which are particularly at stake in the context of the economic crisis nowadays. Issues such as the prevention of misconduct in organizations or the relationship between individual’s ethical behavior and the strategies for the economic recovery will be discussed at specific forums.

La Revista Iberoamericana Salud y Ciudadanía/Iberoamerican Journal of Health and Citizenschip es una publicación virtual semestral del Observatorio Iberoamericano Salud y Ciudadanía del CIIIE y UNC. Editada y coordenada mancomunadamente por parte de la membresía del IOHC y colaboradores/as, la revista procura alentar la producción, difusión e intercambio de conocimientos e información entre la comunidad académica dedicada a los estudios sanitarios, de ciudadanía y sexualidad en lberoamerica, así como la difusión y el debate del pensamiento ibero americano contemporáneo. La Revista trabajará desde una perspectiva iberoamericana las problemáticas salud y ciudadanía de forma multi e interdisciplinaria y pretende alentar la innovación temática, el pensamiento abierto y deconstructor de inequidades en Ibero América.

I iberoamerican congress of therapeutic recreation in pediatric oncology
The recommendations of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology refer to the importance of investment in non-pharmacological approaches to handling pain and distress as important components of treatment. In this context, there are numerous benefits associated with the approach of Therapeutic Recreation strategies, innovative in Portuguese territory. Conceptually, the Therapeutic Recreation assumes promoting adaptation to changes that the patient faces in a context of hospitalization; it aims to restore the physical well-being, mental and emotional health of the patient, intending to full recovery. The Holistic perspective often results in a more positive set of experiences by the patient and family in the management of illness and hospitalization.

3rd Screenwriters´ stories seminar
Evento de cunho acadêmico e profissional realizado pelo grupo de pesquisa Núcleo Audiovisual (NAV) e o Centro de Comunicação e Letras da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Seu objetivo é o de promover trocas de conteúdos acadêmicos, culturais e profissionais nas áreas do roteiro audiovisual (cinema e outras mídias) com diálogo permanente com a tecnologia e a geração de novos conhecimentos. A terceira edição dos seminários (2012) está relacionada ao crescente prestígio do roteirista do audiovisual no Brasil e no mundo e às necessidades mercadológicas e artísticas desencadeadas pela multiplicidade de formatos de concepção, produção, distribuição e recepção de mensagens nos formatos, tamanhos e proporções mais diversos.
