  Esta chamada se inscreve no âmbito de um projeto de tradução e de edição crítica do De Missione legatorum Iaponenisum ad Romanam curiam em várias línguas. Os artigos submetidos devem, necessariamente, tomar como ponto de partida o De missione - do qual existem traduções para outras línguas europeias – bem como os vários escritos de Fróis , a fim de abordar os diversos aspectos daquela obra.

  Communautés cléricales et communautés monastiques dans le monde carolingien (VIIIe-Xe siècle)

  Ce colloque entend appréhender les évolutions des communautés cléricales et monastiques d’époque carolingienne afin d’interroger les effets concrets de la réforme de 816-819 et la notion même d’institutionnalisation de l’Église, dont on fait souvent un des traits caractéristiques de la période. Il s’agira d’observer de quelle manière étaient organisées ces institutions, entre le VIII^e et la fin du X^e siècle, sans préjuger d’une rupture en un temps donné, afin de mieux mesurer ce qui caractérisait les différents types de communautés (monastiques et canoniques / canoniales) et à quel point l'effort réformateur mené à l’initiative de la cour constitue ou non une inflexion majeure dans l’histoire de l’organisation de l’Église et des communautés ecclésiastiques.

  Monachisme urbain : 300-1300

  Christianity emerged as an urban phenomenon, yet monasticism is more often than not presented as an escape from the sinful town into the wilderness, and as more concerned with the soul than with the body. Ascetics, however, have always had a vested interest in the city, and not only symbolically. Monasticism has been an important urban presence since Late Antiquity up to the Late Middle Ages, even if they were sometimes in competition with newer religious orders.

  Theological Foundations of Modern Constitutional Theory: 16th-17th Centuries

  Fondements théologiques de la théorie constitutionnelle moderne : XVIe-XVIIe siècles

  This conference aims to assemble different studies laying bridges between modern constitutional theories and theology from the perspective of intellectual history. Though modernity of law and politics has been usually accounted in the context of Reformation, the paper-givers’ approaches to the question will not be restricted in any confessional perspective, Protestant or Catholic. For, whatever the word ‘theology’ may have connoted in the time of religious confrontations, theoretical attempts to legitimize human rights and political authority at those days can be regarded as part of the general current of philosophical investigations, in a new manner and with different foci than ever, into the concept of justice with reference to that of God.
