  Trade and traders throughout history

  Linked to human societies through the ages, trade has taken many forms; it was associated with the appearance of man since barter between tribes and groups of people in the primitive era. This has been one of the pillars of political entities (kingdoms, principalities, Nations and Empires) during all historical periods; it was a factor in their appearance and economic dynamism, a source of political and financial resources due to significant revenue provided to the public treasury power. Trade was behind the emergence of several social phenomena and changes that have affected certain groups of society; it was and is a tool for traffic or movement of social actors, values, and ideas between communities. Currently, trade is of great importance for economic development in all countries ; it is a real challenge that has had an impact on the lives of people, their daily lives, and human and economic development.

  De nombreuses disciplines se sont intéressées à l’étude de l’insularité (géographie, économie, anthropologie, biologie, linguistique, démographie) et ont montré combien cette notion est complexe et multidimensionnelle. L’approche envisagée dans ce colloque est donc pluridisciplinaire, même si nous attendons des communications qui mettent l’accent sur les rapports entre insularité et productions langagières, insularité et créations populaires (contes populaires, imaginaire collectif…).

  Nous vivons aujourd'hui dans un monde très complexe et qui se complexifie chaque jour davantage. L'un des éléments de sa complexification est l'accroissement extraordinaire des informations que nous sommes appelés à manipuler et en particulier les informations géographiques, au vu de l'intérêt grandissant qu'on leur accorde. En effet, tout objet spatial est susceptible d’avoir un nombre élevé d’attributs thématiques, l'ensemble constituant des informations géographiques. Une information est dite géographique lorsqu’elle décrit et localise un phénomène ou un objet dans l’espace. C’est dire son importance pour toute action de gestion et d’aménagement de l’espace. Mais aussi nombreuses, variées, changeantes et en accroissement exponentiel qu'elles sont, on peut se demander à quoi servent réellement ces informations géographiques, d'un point de vue pratique, aussi bien dans la vie de tous les jours que dans des domaines d'intérêt spécifique.
