  The locii of film

  Special colloquium of the Association de science régionale de langue française (ASRDLF) 2020: films

  Le présent appel propose une session inédite à la conférence de l’Association de science régionale de langue française (ASRDLF) et une arène rare dans les autres manifestations scientifiques. Il invite les chercheurs en sciences régionales, sans condition de thème, de durée ni de discipline, à proposer leurs « films de recherche » sur des questions présentant une dimension spatiale pour être projetés dans leur intégralité. Chaque participant se verra attribuer le visionnage préalable du film d'un autre participant pour engager la discussion après le visionnage. Celle-ci pourra porter sur la forme (fabrication du film) comme sur le fond (sujet traité). La variété des productions, les conditions de production, comme les conditions de leur circulation dans la recherche, seront des questions transversales abordées durant la session. Saisir collectivement les ressorts de pratiques audiovisuelles pour étudier les évolutions territoriales est une des ambitions fortes de cette nouvelle session.

  Migration to and from Canada - the dynamics of space and identity, between continuity and rupture

  Les mouvements de population constituent un aspect essentiel de l’histoire de l’Amérique du Nord et du Canada en particulier. Selon l’Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques (OCDE), les personnes nées à l’étranger représentent aujourd’hui environ 20 % de la population canadienne. Les migrations internationales (au départ du et vers le Canada) et interprovinciales témoignent d’une dynamique spatiale qui a profondément marqué et qui continue à façonner l’image de ce pays.

  At the frontiers of urban space

  From 22nd to 24th January 2014, will be held the International conference “At the Frontiers of Urban Space. Small towns of the world” at the University of Avignon. Organized by the laboratory ESPACE, this conference aims to compare the different issues concerning the least studied part of the urban hierarchy. It will also address the question of limits and definitions that are supposed to set the opposition between urban and rural, as well as between urban and metropolitan. Process of emergence, growth, economic and social role, territorial integration, governance: this meeting provides an opportunity for researchers and professionals from different backgrounds to take stock on a topical issue that arises all around the world.
