Populism: Theoretical Confusion, Contexts of proliferation and Comparative Experiences
Although most researchers unanimously agreed on the modernity of populism, this should in no way discourage us from further examining the implications of this phenomenon and its origins in ancient history. The search for the historical roots of populism, that some relate to early times, is only an attempt to establish its origin. However, the subsequent transformations of populism in meaning and practice have made it difficult to discern its limits. Apparently, this critical approach seems to be inaccessible due to many considerations, including the transformations of populism in terms of concept and practice to the point of almost losing its first forms. According to this approach, it is more likely that real beginnings of populism coincided with the emergence of modern democracy showing signs of deficiency.

Plus directement, nous pouvons aussi observer si les habitudes propres à un territoire peuvent être modelées en réponse à un risque naturel et/ou par prévention face à un aléa, eu égard des enjeux. Mais que se passe-t-il lorsqu’un événement imprévu, comme une pandémie, bouleverse le cours normal de la société ?

GISCOP 84
La recherche-action mise en œuvre par le Groupement d’intérêt scientifique sur les cancers d’origine professionnelle dans le Vaucluse (GISCOP 84) part d’une alerte sanitaire lancée par les médecins du service d’oncologie-hématologie du centre hospitalier d’Avignon (CHA) qui notent une augmentation de l’incidence des cancers hématologiques (leucémies, lymphomes, myélomes), ainsi qu’un rajeunissement des patients au diagnostic. Or, les expositions professionnelles et environnementales subies par les patients atteints de ces cancers sont peu ou pas explorées. Le GISCOP 84 poursuit trois objectifs : connaître les activités de travail exposées à des cancérogènes ainsi que les expositions subies dans l’environnement résidentiel des patients ; faciliter l’accès au droit à la reconnaissance et à la réparation des cancers professionnels pour les personnes concernées ; contribuer à la prévention des situations d’exposition pour réduire les risques cancérogènes au travail.

Ce séminaire doctoral entend s’engager dans une étude historique des ateliers d’artistes de 1880 à 2020. Pratiquant une sociologie des organisations qui postule que l’atelier du créateur compose une structure en soi, fonctionnelle car réglementée par des codes énoncés ou symboliques, catégorielle puisque régie par des habitus régulant les valeurs d’échanges, agissant au singulier ou selon un système collectif quand y pénètrent, outre le « maître » : les apprentis, les disciples, la/les muses, les modèles, les amis, les commanditaires, les collectionneurs etc., on avance que l’atelier fait office d’institution culturelle première.

PJCV seeks articles exploring themes of conflict and violence in the life, work, thought, and intellectual legacy of Jacques Ellul (1912-1994). An “atypical, uncategorizable thinker, transgressing disciplinary borders” (François Dosse), Ellul penned a vast corpus of provocative and original writings in two broad categories: first, sociological writings analyzing elements of twentieth-century western society as expressions of technique (understood as a rational and willful drive will towards ordered efficiency); second, essays in protestant theological ethics and meditative biblical interpretation. These writings bring the voices of Ellul’s three major influences—Søren Kierkegaard, Karl Marx, and the Swiss Protestant theologian Karl Barth—into stimulating dialectical conversation about politics, technology, art, media, communications, institutional evolution, morality, language, anarchy, revolution, urbanism—and notably, violence.

Images, discourse and migrants in the Mediterranean
Le programme de recherche « Images, discours et mobilités en Méditerranée » (IDeM2, 2020-2022) comprend une conférence inaugurale le 15 janvier 2021 à l’IUT de Troyes ainsi qu’un colloque international à l’université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne les 9-10 décembre 2021. Les contributions présentées à l’issue de ces deux événements scientifiques feront l’objet d’un travail éditorial interdisciplinaire. Le programme IDeM2 s’inscrit dans le cadre du réseau Langue française et expressions francophones (LaFEF) de coopération scientifique entre l’Algérie et la France. Sa thématique concerne tous les types de migrations (professionnelles, économiques, politiques, etc.), observables hier ou aujourd’hui, dans ce « bassin de la diversité » qu’est la Méditerranée (Albertini, 2013 : 2). Dans cette perspective, des études concernant tous les pays du pourtour méditerranéen sont attendues.

Influence practices in XXth and XXIst Centuries
The field of influence activities is increasingly proliferating (advertising, propaganda, marketing, public relations, communication, soft power, social psychology, fake news, applied algorithmic, etc.). It is important to grasp not only their scope, but their extension, their dynamics, their practices, their logic, their techniques. Where and on whom do they work? What are their histories? Who are their practitioners? What are their pioneer fronts? Why is it important to consider them just as much each in their specificity, and together? What is the contribution of influence practices to the production of value (economic and political)? From the point of view of the present and from the one of long duration history, is not influence government (a form of governmentality) a major dimension of the deep neoliberal turn the world is experiencing nowadays?

43rd Annual International Committee for Museology (ICOFOM) Symposium
ICOFOM is proposing a symposium around two themes inspired by the process of renewing the definition of the museum and the major trends that contribute to transforming museums (Mairesse, 2015; 2016). These two central themes raise many questions about the primary mission of the museum. Decolonization is at the heart of the fundamental questioning of the social function of the museum. Consequently, these are the discourses, or even the myths of origin of the nations, that are contested.
