Population, Time, Territories (CIST2020)
The latest in the series of Collège international des sciences territoriales (FR2007 CIST) conferences, this 5th international conference spotlights the concept of population as a central issue in the debates within territorial sciences. The concept of population, which is central to demography and biology and more marginal for other disciplines, involves the grouping together of individual entities. Depending on the particular approach used, the preferred criterion for aggregation will be the social, territorial, biological, etc., with timescales and observation scales varying accordingly. Linking together population, time and territory in a transdisciplinary and international perspective is the main goal of this conference; beyond the fact that it represents a theoretical and methodological breakthrough, the diversity of the proposed thematic sessions is a clear sign that this trio is at the heart of contemporary issues.

5th International "Language and Territory" Colloquium
This multidisciplinary colloquium will discuss the different ways that languages and territories are linked, and will show the political, social and economic stakes that arise from the relationships between them. Above all, these terms refer to men and women with their social practices and representations, at the core of the logic of territoriality. New territories give rise to new language practices, which, in turn, create new spaces, discourse and meaning. The "boundaries" we draw between languages and territories are permeable in time and space, depending on factors such as population displacement, language policies, linguistic and social representations, education, mass media and socio-cultural values.

Deux faits, apparemment contradictoires, peuvent expliquer ce mouvement : la dépossession, la violence et la criminalisation de leurs peuples et territoires, en raison d’un tournant néolibéral et extractiviste qui prédomine dans la région ; les nouvelles constitutions multiculturalistes en Amérique latine soutenues par les normes internationales qui ouvrent un espace pour la reconnaissance des droits des Indiens, spécialement du droit à l’autodéterminatio.

The WMF’s mission is the development and exchange of knowledge, information and competencies in all mediation areas, notably through the regular organization of international congresses for more than fifteen years. The Xth Conference of the World Mediation Forum wants to devote itself to trying to understand how mediation can be organized and developed when it has so many objectives that are seemingly difficult to reconcile. Thus, the 2019 conference will try to bring, through four highly interrelated roundtables and about forty presentations, a significant contribution to this question: 'Mediation: A transversal approach with multiple purposes?'

Water in the Americas - comparative perspectives from the social sciences
Le Centre de Recherche et de Documentation des Amériques (UMR 7227) de l’Institut des Hautes Études de l’Amérique Latine de l’Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle Paris 3, organise un colloque international afin d’identifier, dans une perspective comparative, l’évolution des recherches en sciences sociales sur l’eau dans les Amériques, du Sud au Nord, de valoriser les perspectives théoriques et méthodologiques qui se développent pour appréhender l’eau et de comprendre les nouveaux éclairages qu’apportent les sciences sociales sur les débats actuels sur l’eau. Durant deux jours, les 10 et 11 janvier 2019, des chercheurs français et internationaux seront réunis afin de présenter leurs recherches présentant des méthodologies et des outils d’analyse innovants.

Taller 20 del XIV Congreso asociación española de historia contemporánea del siglo XIX al XXI. Tendencias y debates.
L'objectif de l'atelier est d'analyser pourquoi l'utilisation du pouvoir public pour obtenir des bénéfices privés est devenue une constante dans le fonctionnement des systèmes politiques libéraux et démocratiques tout au long des XIXe et XXe siècles en Europe et en Amérique latine. Cet atelier mettra l'accent sur la corruption dans l'administration et les pouvoirs publics, les images et les discours liés à la corruption, la relation entre le pouvoir politique et économique et, avec un intérêt particulier, la corruption électorale.

Borders and space - issues of definition in the Spanish speaking world, 18th-19th century
Une des tendances récentes de l’historiographie consiste à considérer l’espace comme un biais de renouvellement des recherches sur la construction de l’État moderne et de la nation contemporaine. La réflexion sur les différentes configurations historiques de l’espace permet de déconstruire les schémas généraux de l’histoire des institutions, très fortement marqués par l’idéologie étatique, et de considérer l’histoire « locale » comme une part de l’histoire « globale ». Les historiens du droit sont particulièrement concernés par cette nouvelle perspective transnationale. Le monde hispanique offre des cas de figure de surcroît inhabituels pour le public français. Les trois intervenants de l’atelier-séminaire entrent tous dans cette perspective et parleront des modalités de configuration juridique des espaces politiques.

The 5th international congress “Sport, doping and society” is organized by the Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD) and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Under the theme “Think Clean”, there will be presented the results of scientific researches and new methodologies in the field of doping in sport from the specific perspective of Human and Social Sciences. We believe that this initiative will contribute to identify the factors that influence the use of doping substances and methods. From this knowledge we hope to foster future prevention and doping control and to promote ethical behavior in sport.

Merchants, jurists and other "intermediate groups" in Early Modern Southern Europe
Merchants, farmers, jurists, clerks in large institutions, secretaries, independent landowners, local elites and highly sought master craftsmen, among many others, are individuals with an ambiguous social status. Looking at who was not born exactly noble, nor exactly commoner, but stood on the border between one world and the other, is one of the goals of this initiative. As part of a project developed in Portugal focusing on the Holy Office’s familiaturas, it will be held on September 16 and 17, 2015, a workshop at Escuela Española de Historia and Archaeological in Rome. Our aim is to select a total of 8 applicants, that will be joined by 4 guest speakers, for a joint reflection on the dynamics and profiles of ‘intermediate groups’, as well as on the methodologies for their study in Early Modern Times.

The history of pluri-confessional families in the Middle Ages in the Iberian Peninsula
Ces journées d’étude abordent des questions portant sur les familles à composante pluri-religieuse. Nonobstant les travaux consacrés aux groupes religieux dans les sociétés multiconfessionnelles qui, le plus souvent, opposent ces « communautés » présentées comme des blocs monolithiques, l’histoire a le devoir de mettre au jour le vécu singulier de chaque individu. L’étude des minorités ne peut se réduire au collectif, au général. Si l’historien aime à dresser des tableaux synoptiques d’une période, d’un lieu, ici l’occasion sera offerte de s’interrogersur ces stratégies discursives. Le groupe religieux d’appartenance des individus peut constituer un tout, mais n’oublions pas que les familles et les individus en réalisent les parties.

Memory, truth and justice in Uruguay
Memoria, vedrdad y justica en Uruguay
Ce colloque organisé par ILCEA, propose de faire un état des lieux de la gestion politique et sociétale du passé prédictatorial et dictatorial du point de vue des constructions mémorielles, de la recherche et de la connaissance de la vérité, et des enquêtes et procès judiciaires nationaux et internationaux. L’axe civilisations hispaniques de l’Institut des langues et cultures d’Europe et d’Amérique mène depuis 4 ans un projet autour de la mémoire des événements traumatisants et des relations internationales dans le monde hispanique, déjà concrétisé par l’organisation des colloques internationaux. Dans la continuité de ces projets et dans le cadre d’initiatives internationales de soutien à l’Uruguay et de réflexions sur la gestion du passé traumatique, l’ILCEA organise un colloque international en faisant appel à des magistrats et des universitaires, acteurs clés de la lutte pour la vérité et la justice en Uruguay, ainsi que des spécialistes français et internationaux des droits de l’Homme.

Séminaire de recherche consacré à l’histoire culturelle de la péninsule Ibérique, chrétienne, islamique et juive du Moyen Âge. En 2013-2014, le séminaire poursuivra la recherche entamée sur la notion d’identité dans l’Espagne médiévale, sur la validité d’un tel concept, et sur l’existence d’une ou de plusieurs identités « hispaniques ». Perpignan
The third biennial conference on formulas in medieval culture (GRENDEL – IDEA), hosted by the University of Perpignan (CRHiSM, VECT-Mare Nostrum & Institut Des Méditerranées) will take place on June 19-21 2014. The event will be held at the university and other locations significant in medieval Catalan culture. The programme will include a half-day of visits to sites including the priory of Serrabone and the abbey of Saint-Michel de Cuxa, as well as a concert of medieval music.
