  The increasing importance of the notion of sustainable development in our companies(societies) brought to the foreground three new types(chaps) of entrepreneurships: the social entrepreneurship, the environmental entrepreneurship and the long-lasting(sustainable) entrepreneurship. Our colloquium suggests analyzing the various stakes bound(connected) to these types(chaps) of entrepreneurship in Africa.

  Call for papers - Urban studies

  Revisit Patrick Geddes

  In the interdisciplinarity of his thought, its international dimensions and the timeliness of his ideas, but also given the misunderstanding of his work in France, Espaces et Sociétés devotes its next folder issue to Patrick Geddes, pioneer of modern urbanism and interdisciplinary methods, precursor of environmentalism.  In effect, the environmental question has not emerged suddenly in urbanism, it goes back to the 19th century and the beginnings of the 20th century with authors such as Geddes.   The choice of Geddes reflects the interdisciplinarity of his thought, its international reach and the novelty of his ideas, but also by the lack of his work in France; it was necessary, in fact, to wait until 1994 for the first translation of his work Cities in Evolution (1915).  Equally this number wishes to address this oversight by understanding and by calling for a critical rereading of his work.

  L'archéogéographie est une géographie ou une géohistoire et comme toutes les géographies, elle réclame une analyse des formes, des espaces et des territoires produits par les sociétés, une connaissance des processus d'hybridation entre nature et sociétés. Dans un contexte toujours d’expansion de l’agriculture irriguée comme moteur de développement, l’atelier 2013 s’intéressera aux enjeux économiques et agronomiques de ce type de culture depuis périodes historiques jusqu’à l’époque actuelle.
