  Cinema, power and freedom in Latin America

  Partant de l’idée selon laquelle le pouvoir est un phénomène spécifiquement humain, régi essentiellement par la liberté et porteur de sens uniquement à partir du moment où une conscience (individuelle, collective, anonyme) agit, décide et dispose de lui pour le diriger vers des fins déterminées (Romano Guardini, 1963), nous adressons à la communauté des chercheurs ainsi qu’aux cinéastes intéressés le présent appel à participer, dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, au colloque Cinéma, pouvoirs et libertés en Amérique latine. Ce colloque entend interroger la manière dont la production cinématographique et audiovisuelle de l’Amérique latine s’approprie la réalité du pouvoir dans ses diverses dimensions (politique, sociale, de genre, idéologique, subjective, anonyme, etc.) ainsi que dans ses interactions avec des pratiques de liberté (critique, résistances, contestation, détournement, re-signification, etc.).

  X-ray of violence in Peru in the post-war

  15 years of the Commission of Truth and Reconciliation: appraisals and perspectives

  De longue date, la France a accueilli nombre de rencontres sur la violence politique et ses enjeux mémoriels dans les pays latino-américains. Nous proposons ici la première manifestation académique sur le cas péruvien en France. Ce colloque vise à questionner l’impact du rapport final de la Commission de la Vérité et Réconciliation (CVR) en tant que grand récit « officiel » du conflit armé au Pérou. Dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire, il s’agira d’analyser les répercussions des recommandations de la CVR et d’interroger « l’actualité » du conflit armé dans la société péruvienne. Pour mener à bien ce projet, nous avons souhaité faire dialoguer différents espaces, approches et disciplines faisant écho à ce sujet : notre réflexion s’articule ainsi au croisement de l’anthropologie, de la sociologie, de l’histoire, de l’archéologie et de la littérature.

  Wars and political violence in modern European and American societies (19th-21st century)

  “Amnis” Journal

  Amnis Review seeks to open up a reflection on the synergies that exist between war and political violence – both real and symbolic – and to ascertain to what extent the two phenomena are interlinked as well as how far they can be regarded as an essential area of research for gaining an understanding of the historical processes at work during a given period. To this end, Amnis proposes a long-term study focused on the contemporary period in order to analyse not only the impact of conflicts, such as the two world wars that left their mark on the 20^th century, but also the consequences of the many civil wars, colonisation wars and the various other types of confrontations that have punctuated the history of European and American societies from the 19^th century to the present.

  To reconcile and to reincorporate

  Discourse, ceremonies and practices in and beyond the Iberic Monarchies

  In recent years historiography has been slowly acknowledging the potential of civil societies to restore concord after profound divisions. It also has uncovered the pacification strategies of authorities to reconcile and reincorporate individuals and social groups after periods of contestation and revolt. These complex processes are crucial to better understand the history of the Iberic monarchies, which have been able to develop a long-term government despite many crises of different origin and outlook. Hence, this conference will be focused on the themes of reconciliation and reincorporation from following four perspectives: Words, discourses and emotions (semantics and sentiments), Negotiating reconciliation (promotors and strategies), Making reconciliation work (agents and mediators, processes and forms), In the margin of reconciliations (the undecided and excluded)
