Les villes américaines face aux changements globaux

Revue Interdisciplinaire des travaux sur les Amériques (RITA) N°13

Le constat de bouleversements environnementaux à l’échelle planétaire est aujourd’hui sans appel. Des processus interdépendants, comme le réchauffement climatique, l’extinction des espèces, l’épuisement des sols et la raréfaction des ressources énergétiques modifient profondément, du point de vue matériel comme sur le plan symbolique, les conditions d’existence de nos sociétés. Ces transformations systémiques, qui dépassent largement le seul domaine de l’environnement physique ou du changement climatique, peuvent être désignées grâce au concept de « changements globaux », qui est devenu un thème de recherche majeur dans les champs des sciences sociales et environnementales au cours des trois dernières décennies. À l’occasion de son treizième numéro, la revue RITA propose d’explorer les villes américaines, dans leurs relations, face aux changements globaux.

The next 8th, 9th and 10th of April it will take place at the University of Santiago de Compostela the international conference "The Epoch of Space. State and New Perspectives", where researchers from around the world will meet to discuss the spatial turn of humanities. This interdisciplinary event will bring together geographers, philologists, historians, philosophers, and other interested disciplines to review the current state of spatial humanities, share different approaches, research methods and discuss their future.

The epoch of space. State and new perspectives

For centuries, the study of time was one of the main academic interests in the field of Humanities. However, in the second half of the 20^th century, most scholars and philosophers shifted their focus to the question of space. The interest in studying this in the field of the arts has increased significantly in recent years, and is especially noticeable in the case of literary creations.The growing influence of ecocriticism and geocriticism is especially noticeable in digital humanities. The bridges recently built between these fields are already proving to be productive, as they have led to the development of new tools, approaches, and methodologies, such as deep mapping techniques and the spatial humanities. How have the disciplines evolved in recent years? Do we need to redefine the key concepts regarding space and place? Has our relationship with territory changed? Have we produced new ways of inhabiting space?

The “Landscapes” edition of dearq academic journal invites participants to reflect on what has globally been, principally since the beginning of the twentieth century, the evolution of the concept of landscape; the relevant methods of analysis; the methods of representation, of evaluation, and of teaching. This takes into consideration how the concept is a practical project tool that can be used for land-use planning, what landscape’s level of influence has been on the public policy decision-making process, what instruments and regulations have been used, and also how “landscape” and “territory” coexist.

Droit à la ville au Sud, expériences citadines et rationalités de gouvernement

Ce colloque international propose de travailler la notion de droit à la ville depuis les villes du Sud. Il s’attache à en restituer la portée critique et souhaite soumettre à la réflexion collective la notion de droit à la ville de fait, forgée dans le cadre d’un programme de recherche collaboratif, DALVAA. Il invite donc des participants de disciplines et d’institutions variées, à engager un dialogue sur le rôle des expériences citadines dans la mise en ordre socio-spatiale des villes du Sud.

Imaginaire : construire et habiter la Terre

ICHT 2017

Face au développement de nouvelles formes de fonctionalisme (smart cities…), le parti-pris de ce colloque pluri-disciplinaire est de réaffirmer la place des poétiques urbaines dans la fabrique contemporaine des villes. Centré sur les imaginaires, les images matérielles et les approches sensibles du quotidien urbain, il se déclinera à partir de trois objets thématiques : imageries urbaines ; ville douce et bien-être en ville ; habitat et habiter précaires. Les contributions sont ouvertes aux travaux de recherche, expériences ou projets menés par des chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales, concepteurs d'espaces ou artistes.

The Center of History of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon, are pleased to be hosting the II meeting of REPORT(H)A - Portuguese Network of Environmental History, in 2017 Spring. The cross cutting conference theme, Environmental Changes in Historical Perspective, is inscribed in transnational and transdisciplinary approaches, a challenge to the current academic research and debate in environmental sciences and humanities.

The study and design of landscape as a methodological problem

First Iberian Colloquium on Landscape

Landscapes present themselves as sceneries we have inherited, where we live, and from where we draw the resources needed to subsist as a civilisation and as a species. The result of our actions on this heritage will be the legacy to our descendants. In the beginning of the third millennium, the interest in the topic of landscape is increasingly important, transforming this discipline in a research platform where several fields of knowledge intersect. The aim of this colloquium is to reflect about the diversity of multidisciplinary aspects, analytical methods, and intervention techniques related to the study of landscape, establishing a forum focused on the future relationship between humanity and landscape.

Créativité et innovation comme processus solidaires : vivre le territoire et faire la ville autrement ?

Le principe des rencontres « Attilio » est, pour chaque proposition, d’associer tant que faire se peut au moins un intervenant brésilien et un intervenant français. Les communications doivent privilégier les approches franco-brésiliennes, comparatives ou permettant la mise en perspective de sujets qui seraient spécifiques à l’un des deux pays par rapport à des phénomènes comparables identifiés dans l’autre. Les rencontres doivent être l’occasion de valoriser la comparaison, l’échange d’expériences, de bonnes pratiques, de méthodes de travail, etc., grâce à un débat fécond entre les intervenants.

Colóquio Luso-Brasileiro

É com grande prazer que vos convidamos a participar no Colóquio Luso-Brasileiro, subordinado ao tema: “Semiótica do Espaço”. O evento decorrerá entre os dias 5 e 7 de Setembro de 2013, nas instalações da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. É nossa expectativa que este evento proporcione um ambiente de encontro, de intercâmbio e de partilha entre investigadores e potencie novos horizontes de pesquisa nos diversos campos da Semiótica Espaço.
