Perspectives théoriques et méthodologiques pour la recherche

Ce dossier invite les chercheurs et chercheuses à présenter des articles qui discutent des défis et des limites théoriques et méthodologiques auxquels sont confrontées les nouvelles questions de recherche pour aborder les interfaces entre religion et genre dans les pays du continent, en considérant les changements dans le domaine social et religieux des dernières décennies. Nous accueillons des travaux issus de différents domaines de connaissances en sciences sociales et humaines, ainsi que des domaines d’études qui se situent à l'intersection de ces thèmes. Nous proposons de stimuler la réflexion sur les défis éthiques auxquels sont confrontés les chercheurs face aux nouveaux modèles théoriques et méthodologiques utilisés dans notre région et au-delà.

African Ivories

In the Atlantic World, 1400-1900

Since April 2015, the international team working on the project “African Ivories in the Atlantic World: a reassessment of Luso-African ivories” (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia: PTDC/EPH-PAT/1810/2014), composed of 27 researchers from the University of Lisbon, the University of Évora and the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, has been researching the trade, circulation and production of raw and carved African ivory in the Atlantic area from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. The team has identified and listed objects from Portuguese and Brazilian (Minas Gerais) collections, also collecting references and descriptions extant in written Portuguese sources. For the first time a selection of ivory pieces was subjected to lab tests with a view to helping establish their age and origin. The project research team has submitted proposals for re-interpreting material culture in the framework of its African contexts of production.

"Odeere" Journal

Since mental health is perceived as a result of ethnic relations within a societal context, the Editors of this special issue are inviting authors from diverse areas of knowledge to submit their papers on the theme “Mental health, Ethnic relations and Immigration”. The objective of this Special Issue is to offer a perspective about the aforementioned facets of the Brazilian and international contexts grounded from the experiences of researchers from multiple disciplines. This will inspire the debate about this field of research and the development of reflections about social policies.

Work on screen: social memories and identities through cinema

Since the early 20^th century, work in contemporary societies has suffered several processes of change, which, in the context of the current economic and employment crisis, demand equating the structuring of social identities that are built and modified through work. During this period, cinema has been a privileged vehicle for the creation and dissemination of representations on work and, therefore, the shaping of social memories. This international and multidisciplinary seminar aims at gathering and discussing contributions that analyse the social processes involved in the formation of work identities and representations through cinema. It welcomes papers that highlight the main continuities and discontinuities of work memory narratives from the early 20^th century to the present days, based on the analysis of specific films or bodies of films (both documentaries and fictions) and their reception.

Contemporary poetics and politics of thee body

Dans une perspective comparatiste et transversale réunissant différentes disciplines théoriques et artistiques, ce colloque a pour but d’ouvrir un dialogue interdisciplinaire et de mettre en jeu les questions que notre contemporanéité pose sur le corps. Prenant en compte les différences territoriales et culturelles, chaque époque historique produit une idée différente du corps et du sujet, qui est intimement liée à ce qui se passe dans les domaines artistiques, théoriques, technologiques, sociaux, politiques et économiques qui la soutiennent. Partant d’une approche interdisciplinaire, cette rencontre est destinée à proposer et approfondir des axes de recherche qui peuvent aider à comprendre la construction de corporalités dans le contexte contemporaine.

Another Music in a Different Room

Resulting from a series of developed works in the last decade within the framework of social sciences (namely Sociology of Culture, Sociology of Arts, Sociology of Youth, Urban Sociology and Sociology of Music), in this advanced seminar we will have the opportunity of deepening the understanding around the importance, functioning, process, the agents, characteristics, genres and subgenres of the current urban music scenes. The ANOTHER MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT ROOM will be a fruitful space for ideas, discussions and, therefore, for a great developments on scientific knowledge. So, it’s our intention to share all this scientific dynamic with the world in order to contribute to a larger debate on music, youth, lifestyles, culture, cultural scenes, music scenes. In this context, the ideas and discussions held in the Advanced Seminar, both by lecturers and participants, will be published in a Collaborative e-book.

La problématique de la méthodologie ethnographique et anthropologique

Revue Antropológicas

La revue Antropológicas accepte des propositions d'articles à publier dans le prochain numéro qui aura pour thème la problématique de la méthodologie ethnographique et anthropologique. Les manuscrits doivent être soumis sur la page http://revistas.rcaap.pt/antropologicas/login jusqu'au 28 février 2013. Depuis l’affirmation académique de son domaine de connaissance, la pratique ethnographique et l'écriture anthropologique ont mérité plusieurs débats, aussi bien pour l'originalité de la méthodologie que pour la rigueur scientifique exigée aux professionnels. Parmi les sciences sociales, l'anthropologie a été celle où le débat théorique sur sa propre raison d'être a exigé une plus grande capacité critique, en remettant en question ses bases méthodologiques.
