  Syndicalisme, conflictualité et action directe dans les Amériques et en Europe

  De la fin du XIXe siècle aux années 1980

  Le syndicalisme peut se définir, sur un plan général, comme un outil collectif de défense des intérêts matériels et moraux d'un groupe de salarié·e·s, organisé·e·s par métier ou par branche d'activité ou, de manière croissante au cours du XX^e siècle, sur une base intercatégorielle. Très tôt, dès la fin du XIX^e, et indépendamment des régimes politiques au sein desquels il évolue, les militant·e·s syndicaux·le·s se posent la question des modalités d'action collective et de défense des intérêts moraux et matériels du mouvement ouvrier, entendu au sens large du terme. L'action du Premier mai 1886 à Chicago et le massacre de Haymarket Square, qui lui succède, le 4 mai, sont, en ce sens, des moments fondateurs de la période à laquelle le colloque sera consacré.

  The editors are looking for articles, translations, interviews as well as book or performance reviews. América Crítica is a peer reviewed, biannual journal published by CISAP (Centro Interdipartimentale di Studi sull’America Pluriversale) at the University of Cagliari, Italy. It publishes unsolicited articles related to any area of American Studies, Latin American Studies and Hemispheric American Studies (literature, history, linguistics, arts, cultural studies, film studies, politics, social sciences and anthropology). It especially welcomes contributions focusing on a comparative approach, native and/or minority cultures in the Americas, American urban cultures, and marginal and contested cultures and identities in the Americas.

  Anthropologies of the United States of America

  Views from near and from afar

  This conference is an interdisciplinary research project intended for scholars from various fields. The aim is to discuss a historically, anthropologically and politically central country: the United States. Is it possible to see the United States as a country to be examined from multiple points of view – both from near and from afar – with particular interest in the current “anthropological” culture, while also paying attention to history and making predictions about the future? Specialists and enthusiasts from various backgrounds are invited to respond from specific perspectives, in order to compare and contrast different interpretations of the “American galaxy”. To this end, both studies of a theoretical nature and case studies are encouraged.

  Languages of urbanization and visions of the city

  This section will focus on the representations of urban spaces and urban lives in the Americas, with special regard to the languages and the social practices that convey – or that have conveyed in the past – the idea of “making the city”. We are especially interested both in grassroots movements of urban resistance and in counter-hegemonic representations of the urban space. We welcome contributions on practices of re-appropriation of the city, on the strategies of resistance to the processes of gentrification, on the relationship between urban space and subaltern groups (minorities and/or subcultures) and on the ways in which the urban space has been represented, reimagined or invented in literature, cinema, comics, music, photography, television, visual arts.

  Intermédialité et transmédialité dans les pratiques artistiques contemporaines

  Intermedialità e transmedialità nelle pratiche artistiche contemporanee

  Le groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire des départements de philosophie et de langues et cultures moderne de l'université de Gênes, organise un colloque international sur les questions concernant l'intermédialité et la transmédialité dans les pratiques artistiques contemporaines. Hybridation, intermédialité, transmédialité, multimédialité, intersémioticité sont les termes qui nous permettent de désigner l'entrecroisement de ces pratiques où se multiplient les emprunts entre cinéma, photographie, art numérique, art vidéo, littérature, etc., quoique la distinction conceptuelle entre chacune de ces notions ne soit encore tout à fait consolidée. Ce colloque se propose de développer une réflexion autour de l'usage de ces notions à travers un débat théorique entre diverses approches disciplinaires.

  Forme et effets de l’action informelle dans les Caraïbes, entre légalité et illégalité (XVII-XXI siècle)

  Quel est le rôle des institutions informelles dans l’évolution des aspects économiques, politiques et sociaux du bassin carabique ? Diacronie analysera le développement économique et social de la région, mettant l’accent sur le rôle joué par les acteurs informels, à savoir les représentants des groupes qui, se déplaçant entre légalité et illégalité, réussissaient – et réussissent – à donner à l’individu (client, consommateur ou commerçant), ce que les lois interdisent. L’objectif est d’examiner phénomènes appartenant soit à la période contemporaine, soit phénomènes qui, bien que liés à l’âge moderne, ont généré des conséquences à long terme dans l’histoire de la région et dans les zones qui lui sont liées.
