  International migrations and labour from the 70s to the present

  Since the 70s the presence of migrants in Europe, and especially in Italy, has become a structural issue and has been at the center of the public and political debate. The progressive demolition of welfare systems, the job precariousness, and new consumer lifestyles have generated different responses in terms of regulation of the admissions of foreign citizens in search of a job and their management (housing issues, access to health care, etc.). Both with regard to organization of forms of protection of immigrants in the exercise of theirs fundamental rights, especially in cases of serious discrimination and exploitation (immigrant associations, trade union action, etc.).

  With Italy in their baggage

  Migration, circulations and Italianess (XIXth-XXIst) century

  Since the end of the 19th century, Italian emigration to the rest of the world has become one of the most important migratory movements in contemporary history. Twenty-six million Italians left the Peninsula during the hundred years between the 1860s and the 1960s. More recently, since the beginning of the 2000s, a new wave of more skilled migrants has emerged. In Italy itself, as well as in countries of destination, this migration has proved to be a rich source for historical researchers, recently renewed by the circulatory and transnational approaches. This international and interdisciplinar conference intend to expand this reflexion and encourage further discussions on the interaction between the circulation of Italians around the world and their relationship with Italy from a cultural, rather than a political, perspective

  France and Italy (1956-1967)

  Ce colloque international se situe dans la continuité des travaux interdisciplinaires menés entre 1981 et 1990 par le comité d’historiens franco-italiens alors présidé par Jean-Baptiste Duroselle et Enrico Serra. Il s’agira de reprendre l’étude des médiations et des rapports franco-italiens sur les plans diplomatique, culturel et économique de 1956 à la veille de 1968.
