International migrations and labour from the 70s to the present
Since the 70s the presence of migrants in Europe, and especially in Italy, has become a structural issue and has been at the center of the public and political debate. The progressive demolition of welfare systems, the job precariousness, and new consumer lifestyles have generated different responses in terms of regulation of the admissions of foreign citizens in search of a job and their management (housing issues, access to health care, etc.). Both with regard to organization of forms of protection of immigrants in the exercise of theirs fundamental rights, especially in cases of serious discrimination and exploitation (immigrant associations, trade union action, etc.).

The Second Iron Age in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Economic, social and cultural aspects
L’objectif de la journée d’étude internationale FERTIGE13 (Ferro Tirreno Genova 2013) est de dynamiser la mise en réseau des jeunes chercheurs en réunissant une douzaine de doctorants et jeunes docteurs (moins de cinq ans) concernés par l’espace et la chronologie de la réunion, tout en privilégiant l’interdisciplinarité des approches. Les intervenants seront invités à présenter des travaux en lien avec cette problématique, en insistant sur la contextualisation à échelle inter-régionale, et en focalisant sur les méthodologies impliquées, dans l’idée de confronter au mieux les dynamiques de recherche actuelles entre les différentes institutions.

Forms and effects of the informal action in the Caribbean, between legality and illegality (XVII-XXI century)
What is the role of informal institutions in the evolution of the economic, political and social aspects of Caribbean basin? Diacronie will analyze the economic and social development of the area, focusing on the role played by informal actors, namely the ones moving between legality and illegality, that were able (or are able) to give the individual (no matter if a customer, consumer or merchant) what the laws prohibit. The objective is to examine both contemporary phenomena and phenomena which, although related to the early modern age, have generated long-term consequences in the history of the regions related to it.
