  In 2018, we will be holding the 9^th edition of a conference that is becoming a benchmark in the field of film research.The Avanca | Cinema is a meeting point for researchers who intend to disseminate and share their academic research. Having been the first scientific conference to take place within the framework of a film festival, the Avanca | Cinema and the 22^nd Avanca 2018 Festival offer a unique atmosphere and a diverse program that includes cinema sessions, workshops, book presentations, round tables, plenary sessions and side events (from gastronomy to concerts).These are 5 days of cinema and truly festive moments ... in the eyes that meet in Avanca, Portugal, in midsummer.

  Migrants in Global Metropolises

  MAGMET research and doctoral seminar

  L'objectif de ce séminaire consiste à articuler transformations urbaines, migration et mondialisation pour mieux comprendre la fabrication des villes-mondes plurielles, marquées par de très forts taux d’immigration et de part de population étrangère. Partant des pratiques et des représentations des différents acteurs sociaux, économiques et politiques qui produisent et vivent dans ces villes, il s’intéresse aux modalités d’incarnation socio-spatiales de la diversité, ainsi qu’à sa gestion. En pensant simultanément les connexions et les ancrages, en jouant systématiquement sur l’articulation des échelles, l’enjeu du séminaire est d’élaborer un cadre analytique théorique comparatif afin de réfléchir aux modes de transformation des métropoles plurielles, engagées dans des dynamiques de mondialisation, en fonction de leur insertion dans les réseaux globalisés, de leur taille démographique et de leurs héritages et contextes politiques.

  Law and Boundaries Conference

  Annual International Conference / Sciences Po Paris / May 19th and 20th 2014

  The conference seeks to create a cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural dialogue between students coming from European and foreign universities. The project was initially driven by the feeling that legal scholarship has remained largely silent in the aftermath of the economic crisis, especially concerning the role of lawyers and legal templates. Another underlying impetus is the concern over the relative absence of European legal scholarship in debates concerning cutting-edge global governance issues. The challenge is to explore how European legal thought can help to understand problems brought about by globalization.This year the conference will be held in Sciences Po Paris on May 19th and 20th 2014.
