Soft Law Research (Solar) Network
Financed by the European Commission, the Academic Network of Soft Law Research (SoLaR) aims at stimulating the debate between academics and practitioners on the national role of EU soft law. SoLaR asks whether and how non-binding EU instruments are used bynational administrations when implementing EU policies and bynational courts when ruling in cases falling within the scope ofapplication of EU law. This final event will present the results of the project (to be published by Bloomsbury as an edited collection in 2020), introduce the policy recommendations and discuss follow-upactivities

Troisième symposium étudiant international sur l'histoire du crime
Le troisième Symposium on the History of Crime est un forum ouvert aux étudiants pour leur permettre d’explorer les problématiques liées à l’histoire du crime. Ce symposium annuel a vocation à rassembler des doctorants, des docteurs, des étudiants en master ainsi que des enseignants-chercheurs en début de carrière dans un environnement académique accueillant et amical propice à la discussion et au débat. Les deux premières éditions de ce symposium se sont déroulées en Angleterre. La troisième édition réunira à Paris des étudiants venus des États-Unis, d’Angleterre et de France. Nous donnons au Symposium on the History of crime une portée volontairement large et une dimension transdisciplinaire en mêlant des thématiques et des sujets divers. L’objectif est d’encourager les jeunes chercheurs à participer et à présenter, en anglais, leurs recherches sur le crime, l’histoire du crime et le droit pénal.

Recherche État, société, marché Europe (cahiers RESuME)
ERASMUS+ Action Jean Monnet
Le projet Ressources sur le modèle socio-économique européen (RESuME), cofinancé par le programme « ERASMUS+Action Jean Monnet institutions » et l’université du Luxembourg, a pour objectif de contribuer à l’étude du modèle socio-économique européen, de ses origines, de ses caractéristiques actuelles et de son développement à venir. Le projet se concentre sur l’interaction entre la société, les acteurs économiques et les autorités publiques, à travers le prisme de la notion de compétitivité européenne. Il mobilise à ce titre l’histoire contemporaine, le droit, l’économie, les sciences politiques, ainsi que la philosophie politique ou la sociologie. Afin d’éclairer ce sujet, le projet RESuME crée une nouvelle série innovante de contributions scientifiques : les Cahiers de recherche Etat, Société, Marché, Europe (Cahiers RESuME).

Polices et ordre public en France et en Angleterre (1750-1850)
Les perspectives de l’historiographie contemporaine
Traditional historiography has often opposed the French police model to its English counterpart. However, for twenty years, many researchers relativized the differences of these models and focused more on the interactions between cultures of social control. Recent studies have shown the limits of approaches focused on the only national police models as well as the importance of the circulation of police knowledge and technics in the late 18th century and early 19th century. Everywhere in Europe, this period is marked by the will to reform and by reflections on the procedures for the exercise of the police. Through a panel of international researchers, the conference aims to investigate beyond the national perspective by questioning the permanence and changes in police practices on both sides of the Channel. We will ultimately highlight the major trends of contemporary historiography and identify new paths of work.

Am Lehrstuhl für Geschichte Westeuropas und der Transatlantischen Beziehungen der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin sind im Teilprojekt „Herausforderung Sozialstaat“ des BMBF-Projektes „Saisir l’Europe“ zum 1. Dezember 2013 für einen Zeitraum von drei Jahren zwei Doktorandenstellen (50%) zu besetzen. Die Eingruppierung erfolgt nach E13 TV-L.

Les animaux et l'histoire de la France
French History is seeking contributions, in French and English, for a special issue on "Animals in French History," edited by Christopher Pearson (Liverpool) and Peter Sahlins (UC Berkeley). Proposals for articles should bring together theory and original empirical research that draws on new ways of studying animals and animal-human relations in France since the Renaissance. -

Ayuntamiento de Nájera et le groupe d'Histoire urbaine de l'université de Cantabrie (Espagne), réuniront des spécialistes des universités d'Espagne, de France, du Royaume Uni, du Portugal, de la Suède, et d'Italie, avec le but d'échanger des idées, des recherches en cours et des méthodes sur le sujet proposé : La gouvernance de la ville européene au Moyen Âge.
