  Militantism and Re-Compositions in Latin America

  Re-composition of Militantism, Militant Trajectories and Constructions of Political Elites

  This dossier aims to reflect equally on two issues central to the political reconfiguration of formerly militant activism in the most recent period of Latin American history. The first concerns the phenomena of political transformation of former militants and the networks and routes used by former militant actors to politically transform themselves. Many of these have been structured around the strategic positioning of radical political commitments, in addition to the development and integration of new generations of activists into partisan life. The notion of re-composition (translated from the French reconversion) seems appropriate in order to elaborate specifically the political landscape of formal and state connections in different cultural contexts of militantism. The second issue concerns the reconfiguration of militancy in societies that have undergone neoliberal reforms imposed in the last decades of the past century and the development of new approaches to the resistance to the neoliberal state.

  Governing the poor in Latin America: managing women through assistance

  Visant à analyser l’offre institutionnelle et les logiques d’acteurs au travers des nouvelles politiques d’assistance dans six métropoles – Bogota, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chili, Guadalajara et la Havane – le travail de recherche collectif LATINASSIST a mis au jour des techniques de gouvernementalité des femmes pauvres, impliquant dispositifs techniques de gestion du social, des conduites, des désirs et des corps, découpages territoriaux et temporels, stratégies d’usage, professionnalités, et ingérences dans l’intimité des familles.

  Sociopolitical identities in conflict in the political and media discourses of Latin-America

  ADAL study days

  Après une première journée d’étude consacrée aux discours politiques latino-américains, puis une deuxième consacrée aux représentations et imaginaires qui y circulent (Donot et Pordeus, 2012), le groupe ADAL entend s’interroger, pour ses prochaines journées d’étude, sur la question des identités sociopolitiques et des conflits qui leur sont liés. Ces journée visent à regrouper des chercheuses et chercheurs provenant de diverses disciplines : sciences du langage, sciences de l’information et de la communication, sciences politiques, psychologie, cultural studies, etc. Elles s’organiseront autour de trois sessions thématiques : identités nationales, identités sociopolitiques et ethniques, et identités de genre.
