  Vulnerable bodies, exposed bodies, invisible boddies: the prism of public cultures

  L’objet de cette journée d’étude est de rendre compte, au travers des objets très divers, de la manière dont le travail sur la notion de « cultures publiques » peut éclairer la production, l’exposition et/ou l’invisibilisation de corps considérés (politiquement, socialement, médiatiquement...) comme vulnérables, et nos rapports à ceux-ci. Les terrains proposés pour penser cela sont aussi variés que les corps dans les transports, dans les médias, le sport LGBT et paralympique, l’homosexualité dans des espaces publics naturels et le circuit festif gay, une association d’auto-support de personnes transgenres (fréquemment travailleuses du sexe) vivant avec le VIH, ou encore le féminicide au Mexique.

  Parliament(s) and sovereign courts in France and Europe under the Ancien Régime (2012-2013)

  Discourse, legal practice, sociability and political theories

  This seminar, devoted to the European space and tothe "Old Regime" in a broad sense, is designed in the long term. Ithas set itself the goal of presenting the current research on the theme of the"Parliament" expanded, in a strongly interdisciplinary perspective,in all the major issues which are closely linked: centralization of government,sovereignty, "absolutism" and its reconsideration, interplay ofrelationships between spiritual and temporal powers in the evolution of the politicalconceptions and institutions. It will also take into account the law in all itsbreadth, from the legal writing up to the archives policy, through judicialpractice and reflections on magistracy. It is also interested as well in theprocedure as in more abstract designs of the political community.
