The seminar examines the various types of documents produced in the context of scholarly practices in order to understand how the shaping of textual forms and inscriptions is part of the scientific activity. The seminar also aims to understand how these works make it possible to better interpret the sources on which historians of science draw to conduct their research.

The “Arts of Thinking” Mathematics: introduction and case studies in Ethnomathematics, 2020-21
What do we have to gain epistemologically by broadening our point of view on mathematics by including all activities of an “arithmetic”, “geometric” or even “algorithmic” nature (braiding, divination, navigation, games, music, etc.), practiced in the past and / or nowadays in various societies? First, the seminar will address this central question of ethnomathematics by introducing the work carried out over the past few decades in this young interdisciplinary field. Secondly, we will present current research aimed at studying different mathematical practices involved in procedural / technical (textile production, string games, paper folding), musical, and counting activities.

Le programme interlaboratoire de la Maison méditerranéenne des sciences de l’homme (MMSH) « Archives de la recherche » 2020-2021 s’intéresse à l’articulation entre archives et données de la recherche en s’attachant concrètement aux problématiques nouvelles révélées par la multiplication de créations de services d’archives au sein des établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche. Le séminaire se donne ainsi pour objet de réfléchir aux questions de conservation, d’exploitation scientifique, de mutualisation de collection et de valorisation des fonds d’archives de la recherche déposées au sein des unités de recherche et de la médiathèque de la MMSH. Il abordera également, sans les opposer et de façon réflexive, les pratiques actuelles, de la « culture de l’archive » et de la « culture de la donnée ».

Of pictures and what they think
Ce séminaire veut en premier lieu se montrer digne de ce mot sur lequel on passe d’ordinaire trop rapidement : il aimerait contribuer à ensemencer. Il tourne autour des deux mots grecs de logos et eikôn, le verbe et l’image pour employer une fois des traductions reçues et commodes. Cela dit on a depuis longtemps renoncé à traduire effectivement le premier, au-delà du prologue de Jean, et il sera plus prudent de faire de même pour le second, sans l’assimiler trop vite à ce latin image qu’il conviendra lui-même de démêler.

L’école universitaire de recherche « Créativité transformation émergences » (CREATES) et le laboratoire interdisciplinaire « Récits, cultures et sociétés » (LIRCES UPR 3159) de l’université Côte d'Azur, dans le cadre de la formation en master « Psychopathologie psychanalytique et cliniques transculturelles : mutations du lien social, crises et traumatismes », propose son séminaire transdisciplinaire autour de la « réalité mixte ». Le premier semestre sera consacré au sous-thème « Inconscient, corps et création », le second au sous-thème : « Réalités virtuelles, psychopathologies et créativité ». Chaque soirée aura lieu le jeudi de 19h à 20h30 et fera l’objet d’un exposé suivi d’un échange avec l’auditoire.

Dans la 6ᵉ année dans cette pandémie du Covid 19 jamais le contact avec le vivant dans notre corps mais aussi dans nos milieux de vie n’aurait été plus vital et incertain. Comment décrire cette vitalité d’un corps devenu laboratoire, intouchable et mutant ? Comment habiter cette nouvelle émersion du vivant ? Nous discuterons dans la danse, l’écriture, l’écologie, l’autonomie, les jeux traditionnels et l’autosanté comme autant de modalités de contact.

Reading group of cuneiform mathematical texts
Our working group meets once a month at Paris 7 University to read and discuss, from photographs and / or copies and / or transliterations, selected cuneiform mathematical texts by the participants. Unless otherwise indicated, sessions are held on the Thursdays indicated from 13h to 16h in room 324 of the building Olympe de Gouges. Anyone interested is welcome, whether on a regular basis or more punctual.

Les « collections vivantes » sont comprises comme des ensembles inventoriés de spécimens en vie, conservés au sein de musées, de muséums ou d’instituts scientifiques. Elles incluent les collections botaniques, zoologiques, ou microbiologiques. À travers une approche anthropologique, historique ou philosophique, le séminaire explorera quelques questions. Comment ont été et sont définies aujourd’hui les collections vivantes ? Par qui et pour qui ? Quelles sont leurs raisons d’être et comment s’articulent-elles à des paradigmes scientifiques ? Quelles valeurs les sous-tendent ? Quelles spécificités leur caractère vivant apporte-t-il en termes de pratique de collecte, de conservation, de recherche, et d’exposition ?
