Vine, wine and education from the 18th century to today

The vine, the wine and the education are themes which appear distant and which nevertheless can be gathered around the training program and the places of apprenticeship (high schools wine, universities, schools of oenology ...) and school knowledge through disciplines such as geography, biology, art ...; This does not prevent the School from also fighting against addictions, alcoholism and its excesses. It must be said that vine and wine have always brought people together, constituting a real cultural heritage spread all over the world, wine being then a cultural and societal cultural reference. Thus, this theme could be studied around three main axes by involving several disciplines from the Humanities and Social Sciences but also Sciences and literary and artistic disciplines.

Cinema, power and freedom in Latin America

Partant de l’idée selon laquelle le pouvoir est un phénomène spécifiquement humain, régi essentiellement par la liberté et porteur de sens uniquement à partir du moment où une conscience (individuelle, collective, anonyme) agit, décide et dispose de lui pour le diriger vers des fins déterminées (Romano Guardini, 1963), nous adressons à la communauté des chercheurs ainsi qu’aux cinéastes intéressés le présent appel à participer, dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, au colloque Cinéma, pouvoirs et libertés en Amérique latine. Ce colloque entend interroger la manière dont la production cinématographique et audiovisuelle de l’Amérique latine s’approprie la réalité du pouvoir dans ses diverses dimensions (politique, sociale, de genre, idéologique, subjective, anonyme, etc.) ainsi que dans ses interactions avec des pratiques de liberté (critique, résistances, contestation, détournement, re-signification, etc.).

Les évolutions des comportements, des normes sociales et biomédicales qui les fondent, ainsi que celles des politiques sociales, familiales, démographiques, entraînent un renouvellement des problématiques sociétales et de recherche liées à la naissance d’un enfant et à la fécondité.

The Department of Theory and History of Education and Social Pedagogy of the University of Seville (Spain) and the academic network Interuniversity Seminar of Theory of Education (SITE) are pleased to invite you to the 13th International Congress of theory of Education: "Higher Education: the challenge of employability" to be held at the University of Seville on the 26-28 November 2014. The 13th Congress, which is international and clearly interdisciplinary, is presented as a space for debate, reflection and the exchange of experience and good practice in the fields of Higher Education and Employability. The Congress will be attended by over one hundred specialists, academics, researchers and professionals for an in-depth analysis of the triad of education, training and professional skills together with the binome of higher education and work settings from the perspective of lifelong learning. International Medieval Congress

Script is not a neutral communication medium. Scripts were particularly used throughout the Middle Ages to stage the idea of Empire, power and domination. The writing has the ability to connote authority and Empire and to inspire respect. On the other hand, the scriptural domain is a world in itself with its coherence and history. The idea of an ‘Empire of letters’ may have emerged within this world too. Both parts of this “empire of letters” are relevant for the palaeographical sessions on the specific thematic strand of ‘Empire’ organised at the International Medieval Congress 2014 in Leeds and sponsored by Apices and Cap Digital.
