La journée d'étude se propose d'explorer, à travers un large éventail de sources et d’animaux, les relations qui unissent noblesse et animal au Moyen Âge et à l'époque moderne, dans les mondes hispaniques et lusophones. Les réflexions se situeront à la croisée de deux axes d'étude principaux ; celui de la noblesse par l'animal, d'une part, qui fait de l’animal l'un des éléments identifiants et identitaires indispensables à une certaine ostentation aristocratique. Le deuxième axe de réflexion sera celui de la noblesse de l’animal. Mise en lumière par une branche novatrice de la recherche, elle prend en considération l’animal non plus seulement comme compagnon de l’homme mais comme un individu à part entière qui possède sa propre identité et sa propre noblesse.

The Myth of Versailles and European Courts, 18th and 19th centuries
This symposium is organised in conjunction with the research programme “Court identities and the myth of Versailles in Europe: perception, adherence and rejection (18th-19th centuries)” led by the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles. The aim is to analyse the modus operandi of the myth of Versailles in the monarchic Europe of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, taking into account the two contradictory yet complementary elements that characterise the idea of myth: the real and the reconstruction of the real. The focus of this conference will therefore be twofold: understanding how the different aspects specific to the identity of Versailles have fuelled an illusion, but also discerning how this illusion gave rise to other accomplishments, whether architectural, ritual or political.

This meeting is a continuation of the UFA (French-German University) Montpellier-Weimar Colloquium "Construction of myths of war heroes (Germany, France, Japan) organized by Philippe Wellnitz and Gérard Siary in Berlin in 2014. After having there discussed the ambivalence in the construction of "war-heroe", this new conference is interested this time in two other ambivalences associated with the Second World War: those of the positioning of certain host states and "the ethics of survival" of persecuted persons who fled from Axis-occupied territories to other Axis-allied or to neutral States.

Freedom of expression and freedom of creation in the Central American isthmus (19th-21st century)
Le cycle de conférences « Liberté d’expression et liberté de création dans l’isthme centraméricain (XIXe -XXIe siècle) » sera organisé dans le cadre de la semaine de l’Amérique latine en France par les universités d’Angers et de Tours. Ce cycle de conférences transdisciplinaires a une visée structurante entre deux universités et par conséquent se déroulera sur le campus des deux universités, le 28 à Angers et le 29 mai à Tours.

Conference, symposium - Modern
Afin de déconstruire le récit sur la chanson espagnole instrumentalisé par le franquisme, ce colloque invite à réfléchir sur une histoire plus complète et plus complexe de celle-ci, ainsi que sur l’identification des topiques qui ont permis de créer une cohésion nationale à travers la chanson contemporaine. Dans ce cadre, il est également nécessaire de prendre en compte l'importance des chansons dans la création et la transmission des identités liées aux régions, aux villes, aux lieux et même aux quartiers, qui contribuent à l'analyse avec une approche différente. Ce colloque a pour objet d’examiner, dans l’aire culturelle hispanique, les rapports entre chanson et territoire à l’époque contemporaine, de 1808 à nos jours et étudier, dans la chanson, l’évocation des lieux et des imaginaires qu’elle mobilise pour devenir emblématique du territoire national.

The manufacture of a literary heritage in Bolivia
À partir de l’étude du cas bolivien, cette journée a pour objectif de comprendre comment se construit le canon littéraire d’un pays à un moment déterminé ; quels sont les mécanismes de sélection / reproduction du canon et les fonctions de légitimation de ce corpus. La journée réunira des spécialistes de littérature dont certains sont aussi acteurs dans la construction de ce canon. Il s’agira donc d’initier la démarche exploratoire par des communications que nous pouvons entendre autant comme des analyses et des témoignages d’une histoire en train de se faire. Ce projet, s’inscrit dans une perspective plus large, préparer un colloque international autour du bicentenaire de la Bolivie en 2025.

Thinking social ties in Iberian America
Languages, experiences and temporalities (16th-21st centuries)
De l’époque de la Conquête et de la colonisation jusqu’à nos jours, les liens sociaux ont été extraordinairement intenses, complexes et conflictuels en Amérique ibérique. Il est possible d’explorer le langage social de la solidarité et de la désunion, et de se demander comment, depuis la fin du XIXe siècle, les sciences sociales et la psychologie sociale ont oscillé entre discours, enquêtes et conceptualisations selon une tentative toujours renouvelée de rendre compte des spécificités, des pathologies et des adaptations de sociétés de plus en plus diversifiées. En tant qu’élément substantiel du lien social, la mémoire collective peut être abordée selon une perspective historiographique qui explore la diversité de ses motifs et de ses manifestations tout au long des cinq derniers siècles.

La revue Cahiers de Framespa lance un appel à contributions pour son numéro 2019/3, dont le dossier s'intitule « Le “Brésil littéraire” vu de l’étranger – perspectives transnationales (de 1822 à nos jours) ». Ce dossier souhaite approfondir la réflexion autour de la dimension connectée de l’histoire culturelle du Brésil contemporain à partir d’une perspective différente, à savoir la projection internationale des œuvres littéraires et intellectuelles brésiliennes, ces « lettres » que l’on qualifie volontiers de « Pátrias » au XIXe siècle.

Envisioning Latin America: Power and Representation in audiovisual (re)productions
This issue seeks to critically address power structures in audiovisual (re)productions in and from Latin America and discuss how these play a role in the societal construction and representation of individual and collective identities, the ‘us’ and the ‘other’. By doing so, it aims at understanding how these representations – and broader discourses associated therewith – can be critically examined through media productions (cinema, television, radio, photography etc.) and their use as historical sources.

Thinking Latin American Right-Wings in the 20th Century
This conference is the continuation of two previous conferences held in France (2014) and Argentina (2016) which saw the gradual emergence of a community of researchers working on the questions of identities, ideas, practices and discourses of actors and movements from Latin American rightwing. It is difficult to establish the precise conceptual limits of the rightwing because of the heterogeneity and plurality of the groups and movements that have historically been part of this family and which are thus characterized by the presence of diverse political traditions. It is therefore essential to imagine flexible boundaries when considering rightwing history and taking into account the changes it experienced over time. Our purpose is not to establish canonical definitions, but rather to contribute to set general frameworks for this field of study whose historical relevance and actuality are no longer to be demonstrated, but whose limits and fundamental characteristics are still debated.

Cette journée d’études entend étudier des œuvres cinématographiques et audiovisuelles de l’Amérique latine proposant des représentations des interactions entre le pouvoir et la liberté. Du fait de son enracinement dans les expériences quotidiennes de l’être humain, la création cinématographique et audiovisuelle produite dans cette région offre des éléments qui contribuent à une compréhension de ces notions complexes. Le pouvoir et la liberté sont des pratiques constitutives des relations interhumaines (historiques, politiques, économiques, culturelles, intimes, locales, globales…), dont la théorisation requiert d’instruments disciplinaires et méthodologiques variés.

Cette journée a pour objet d'étude le théâtre comme instrument de protestation et de dissidence en Espagne dans les dernières années de la dictature et au début de la démocratie. L’objectif de cette journée est donc de s’interroger sur le caractère revendicatif, critique et protestataire du théâtre et les moyens mis en place dans un contexte de répression culturelle, ainsi qu’à l’aube de la démocratie.

Sedition and Revolt in Modern European Political Thought
As part of the ANR project “Cultures of Revolts and revolutions in Europe”, we wish to bring together international contributors in a discussion of the european political thought brought about by various uprisings between the end of the Middle Ages and the modern era, whether it be reflections over a particular event, or more general considerations over the causes of sedition and protest movements, the means to prevent or suppress new episodes, and their adverse – or regenerative – effects.

Writing history for young people
The past two decades have seen an increase in the number of publications in France on the subject of youth literature, which have approached the subject from various historical angles. Generally tending to favour the colonial period or periods of conflict and mainly focusing on the issue of propaganda, these studies have examined the creation of a colonial or war culture for children. Most notable among these studies are La guerre des enfants: 1914-1918 (The children’s war: 1914-1918) by Stéphane Audoin-Rouzeau (1993) and, more recently, Enfants en temps de guerre et littératures de jeunesse XXe-XXIe siècles (Wartime children and youth literature from the 20th-21st centuries), edited by Catherine Milkovitch-Rioux et al (2013), and Enfance et colonies: fictions et représentations (Children and colonies: stories and representations) (volume 3 of the online journal Strenæ, edited by Mathilde Lévêque, 2012). In an extension of these studies, this volume of Amnis aims to invite discussion more specifically on the writing of history for young people.
