What happened with the LGBTQI+ "rights revolution" in Latin America?
Nr. 99 - Cahiers des Amériques latines
Ten years after Argentina's emblematic "same-sex marriage" law, this issue of Cahiers des Amériques Latines examines the notion of a "rights revolution" [Encarnación, 2016] and takes stock of the situation of sexual and gender minorities in the region. Three lines of research seem essential to propose a critical reflection on the reality of sexual and gender minorities and to evaluate the LGBTQI+ "rights revolution" in Latin America.

La démarche de l’ergologie offre-t-elle une approche pertinente dans le champ des questions intégrant le travail, le patrimoine et le développement ? Dans quelle mesure sa contribution est-elle singulière et innovante ? Afin d’établir un bilan et de tracer des perspectives, le principal objectif du cinquième congrès de la Société internationale d’ergologie (SIE) est de mettre en débats, au cours de trois journées, les travaux qui, en plusieurs lieux du monde, ont fait l’option de s’engager dans cette réflexion, tout en ayant parfois privilégié auparavant d’autres cadres de référence. La diversité des approches constituera un atout essentiel de cette rencontre qui se veut donc pluridisciplinaire.

This interdisciplinary event will bring together geographers, philologists, historians, philosophers, and other interested disciplines to review the current state of spatial humanities, share different approaches, research methods and discuss their future.

Il a pour visée de repenser, dans une perspective transdisciplinaire, les cadres épistémologiques de l’analyse de l’image documentaire. Il réfléchira aux manières dont les films documentaires, maintenus dans une double marginalité, celle du documentaire et celle due au statut des femmes, ont agi comme des opérations d’intelligibilité du monde.

The epoch of space. State and new perspectives
For centuries, the study of time was one of the main academic interests in the field of Humanities. However, in the second half of the 20th century, most scholars and philosophers shifted their focus to the question of space. The interest in studying this in the field of the arts has increased significantly in recent years, and is especially noticeable in the case of literary creations.The growing influence of ecocriticism and geocriticism is especially noticeable in digital humanities. The bridges recently built between these fields are already proving to be productive, as they have led to the development of new tools, approaches, and methodologies, such as deep mapping techniques and the spatial humanities. How have the disciplines evolved in recent years? Do we need to redefine the key concepts regarding space and place? Has our relationship with territory changed? Have we produced new ways of inhabiting space?

Ce dossier souhaite approfondir la réflexion autour de la dimension connectée de l’histoire culturelle du Brésil contemporain à partir d’une perspective différente, à savoir la projection internationale des œuvres littéraires et intellectuelles brésiliennes, ces « lettres » que l’on qualifie volontiers de « Pátrias » au XIXe siècle.

The recognition of women’s place in American societies has become a crucial social, cultural, political and economic issue, as evidenced by worldwide protest movements such as Ni Una Menos that started in Argentina – a feminist movement fighting against feminicides and gender-based violence – or the Women’s March against President Donald Trump in the United States. Whether these protests have to do with the struggle for women’s right to vote, the sexual revolution that started in the 1960s, or social movements denouncing gender-based violence in urban and rural environments, they highlight a continuity between yesterday’s feminist fights and their re-adaptation in the public space.

Il aura pour thème Frontières dans le monde ibérique et ibéro-américain. Il s’agira d’observer et d’analyser comment se manifestent les pratiques et les conceptions de la frontière dans les mondes ibériques et ibéro-américains. Quelles en sont les spécificités et les évolutions au cours des siècles et/ou au sein des territoires hispano/lusophones dans leur diversité ? Ces spécificités, si elles existent, conduisent-elles à renouveler les réflexions sur la notion de frontière ?

V International Conference on Mythcriticism
The V International Conference on Mythcriticism “Myth and Audiovisual Creation” will analyze the impact of myth in audiovisual creation from 1900 to the present day. The Conference will be organized in four universities during two weeks.The Conference will be divided into 4 venues according to different themes: "Germanic Myths" in the University of Alcalá, "Classical Myths" in the University Autónoma, "Biblical Myths" in the University Francisco de Vitoria and "Modern Myths" in the University Complutense. Researchers can send to one of their 4 venues their abstracts. They will have to analyze the relevance of film, TV series and video games in the creation and modification of old, medieval and modern myths to our contemporary world.

Slave subjectivities in the Iberian Worlds (15th- 20th centuries)
Les récits de vies d'esclaves semblent beaucoup moins courants dans les mondes ibériques que, par exemple, anglo-américains. Ils sont pourtant une source de première importance pour comprendre les subjectivités des esclaves eux-mêmes. D'autres sources (archives de l'Inquisition, actes notariés, actes de manumission, etc.) peuvent parfois permettre de traquer cette voix des sans-voix. Ce colloque, organisé en commun par l'Instituto de ciências sociais (Lisbonne) et la Casa de Velázquez / École des hautes études hispaniques et ibériques (Madrid), voudrait permettre d'avancer dans l'étude de la vision des asservis, dans le cadre ibérique.

Thinking and conducting the transformation of work
The contribution of the ergological approach and the works of Yves Schwartz
The ergological approach intends to the co-production of knowledge with the aim of transforming work and more generally the social life. As stated by the scientific project of the Workshop, “the ergological approach, in its history and in its issues, is a priori a subject of interest for everyone, each exploring in its own way the intricacies of human life, but also anyone who wants to think about its own activity and that of others, to reconsider the ways of doing and taking action, of opening new perspectives in ways of working, acting and living”. Yet this approach, which is particularly needed nowadays, is insufficiently known and sometimes considered complex. This is the state of play at the origin of this international workshop for which this call for papers is published.

Perception, reaction and record of natural phenomena before the Enlightenment
Issue no. 18 of the Journal of the History of Society and Culture will include a Special Section comprising papers dedicated to studying the perception, interpretation and record of natural phenomena in the periods preceding the consolidation of the modern scientific thinking. The goal is to explore how certain climatic, astronomical, seismological and vulcanological phenomena, among others, were experienced, explained and assessed prior to the development of technologies capable of predicting, monitoring and deciphering them. Attention must be given to the documents, accounts, representations (pictorial, sculptural, etc.) and remains (archaeological, architectural, urban, etc.) that inform us of eclipses and comets, storms and shipwrecks, volcanic eruptions, river floodings, gales, droughts and other phenomena which, directly or indirectly, left a mark on the populations and are part of their collective memory.

C'est la finalité de ce dossier préparé pour la revue Laboreal (laboreal.up.pt) par une équipe de chercheurs, psychologues et sociologues du travail portugais. Ce dossier doit en outre permettre d'identifier de nouvelles formes d'intervention dans et en dehors des entreprises, à différents niveaux, et en prenant en compte les questions touchant à l'amélioration des conditions de travail ainsi qu'à toutes les formes de soutien (individuel, collectif et institutionnel) qui permettraient à la victime d'un accident du travail de retrouver une vie active décente.

Il s’attache à en restituer la portée critique et souhaite soumettre à la réflexion collective la notion de droit à la ville de fait, forgée dans le cadre d’un programme de recherche collaboratif, DALVAA. Il invite donc des participants de disciplines et d’institutions variées, à engager un dialogue sur le rôle des expériences citadines dans la mise en ordre socio-spatiale des villes du Sud.
