Deuxième rencontre des jeunes chercheurs sur l'Italie préromaine
Du 10 au 12 mars 2021 se tiendra à Paris la deuxième édition de la rencontre des jeunes chercheurs travaillant sur l'Italie préromaine. Elle a pour thème « Dépasser la limite ». Le colloque est pluridisciplinaire. Toutes les disciplines sont bienvenues pour discuter de la limite dans toutes ces acceptions : territoriales, culturelles et idéelles. Les analyses pourront se mener à diverses échelles, de l’artefact ou du site à la région. L’ensemble du territoire italien est concerné, des régions septentrionales et intérieures à la Grande Grèce et à la Sicile en passant par la Sardaigne, les façades tyrrhéniennes et adriatiques (avec des extensions possibles vers les territoires immédiatement environnants dont la Corse). Le cadre chronologique envisagé est assez ample, du Bronze récent au Principat d’Auguste.

Problèmes, méthodologies et sources de l’Antiquité à nos jours
Organisé par les doctorant·e·s en histoire de l’université de Pise (Italie), ce colloque entend interroger la thématique de l’identité et ses dimensions multiples. Il aura lieu – en ligne – dans les journées du 10, 11 et 12 décembre 2020. Il s’agira d’éclaircir la perméabilité et l’intersection d’appartenances et de constructions identitaires différentes. Le but est de partager des approches méthodologiques et épistémologiques nouvelles et d’aborder l’histoire et l’historiographie concernant la question identitaire dans une perspective diachronique, globale et interdisciplinaire.

Image, Cartography, Knowledge of the City after the Council of Trent ("In_bo" vol. 12, no. 16)
Between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Italian political geography was polarized by a number of cities of different sizes and traditions: Rome and Florence, Milan and Naples, Genoa and Venice, Turin and Modena, either ancient republics or new dynastic capitals, satellites of the great European monarchies or small Signorias. The conjunction — less frequently the conflict — between the mandates of the Council of Trent and the interests of the ruling élites of those cities set the foundation for novel forms of social, cultural and spiritual control, fostering new urban structures and policies, deeply conditioned by the presence and government of the sacred.

L’agence Erasmus + France / Education Formation lance un appel à contributions pour le numéro 8 de sa revue scientifique annuelle, intitulée « Journal of International Mobility – Moving for Education, Training and Research » consacrée à toutes les dimensions de la mobilité internationale dans le cadre de l’éducation et de la formation en Europe et dans le monde. Pour ce numéro, le dossier thématique s’intitule « De mobilités pré-professionnelles à l’étranger vers des mobilités professionnelles internationales ? Enjeux, parcours, stratégies des divers acteurs ». Nous attendons également des contributions pour les rubriques « Varia », « Cas pratiques » et « Notes de lecture ».

La montagne et la gestion collective des biens : quelles influences ? quelles interactions ?
Les systèmes ancestraux de propriété collective liés à des communautés villageoises, issus du droit féodal, correspondaient à une économie agraire en général nécessaire à l’autosubsistance (nourricière). Cette économie a progressivement décliné pour de multiples raisons entrelacées. Malgré tout, ces systèmes ont réussi à traverser le temps ce qui ne laisse d’étonner. Ils sont encore très présents en zones rurales, principalement en régions de montagne (France, Italie, Suisse, notamment). Dans un contexte contemporain de déprise agricole, de fermeture des paysages, de baisse des dotations versées par l’État aux communes, mais aussi de besoin impérieux de préserver les ressources naturelles ou de vitaliser la ruralité, il est fondamental de se demander quels rôles peuvent jouer ces communautés en matière de développement durable des territoires de montagne.

In/visible: representation, discourse, practices, “dispositifs”
Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference
How is the materiality of the visible world inscribed in its cultural representations? What are the more or less visible actors and mechanisms in the genesis of a cultural artefact? Should the visible / invisible binomial be considered as an anthropological constant or as the effect of a certain epistemological constellation? To what extent does visibility coincide with power and, therefore, how should one represent the in/visible? These are just some of the questions that cultural studies, in their innate interdisciplinarity and methodological heterogeneity can formulate with respect to the issue.

Conference at Hadrian's Villa
To mark the five hundredth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, the “Istituto Autonomo Villa Adriana e Villa d’Este - Villae” (Tivoli, Rome) is organizing a conference with the theme of: “Leonardo and Antiquity”, at Hadrian’s Villa. At the dawn of the 16th century, Leonardo da Vinci visited Villa Adriana, then known as “old Tivoli”. The conference in preparation intends to explore ways in which this journey influenced Leonardo's genius, also in the context of the time period and work of Leonardo's contemporaries and/or disciples. In the company of internationally recognized keynote speakers, the conference welcomes the participation of both Italian and foreign researchers and scholars who answer this call for papers, as a major focus of the conference will be to place Leonardo's trip to Tivoli within a broader cultural context. The deadline for the paper proposals is fixed at January 25th, 2019.

International migrations and labour from the 70s to the present
Since the 70s the presence of migrants in Europe, and especially in Italy, has become a structural issue and has been at the center of the public and political debate. The progressive demolition of welfare systems, the job precariousness, and new consumer lifestyles have generated different responses in terms of regulation of the admissions of foreign citizens in search of a job and their management (housing issues, access to health care, etc.). Both with regard to organization of forms of protection of immigrants in the exercise of theirs fundamental rights, especially in cases of serious discrimination and exploitation (immigrant associations, trade union action, etc.).

The editors are looking for articles, translations, interviews as well as book or performance reviews. América Crítica is a peer reviewed, biannual journal published by CISAP (Centro Interdipartimentale di Studi sull’America Pluriversale) at the University of Cagliari, Italy. It publishes unsolicited articles related to any area of American Studies, Latin American Studies and Hemispheric American Studies (literature, history, linguistics, arts, cultural studies, film studies, politics, social sciences and anthropology). It especially welcomes contributions focusing on a comparative approach, native and/or minority cultures in the Americas, American urban cultures, and marginal and contested cultures and identities in the Americas.

5eme rencontre international du Réseau Européen d'Histoire de l'Architecture, à Tallinn, juin 2018
This session aims to address, from a historical perspective, the relation between, on one side, architecture and the related disciplines, and on the other side, agriculture and rurality at large. We welcome proposals specifically mapping case studies concerned with large-scale agricultural development and/or colonization schemes conceived and (but not necessarily) implemented in Europe and beyond during modern times (late 18th-20th century), strongly connected to nation- and State-building processes, and to the modernization of the countryside. We are particularly interested in those examples which aimed to “make the difference” in both scale and numbers, entailing radical reshaping of previously uninhabited or sparsely populated areas into new, planned, “total” rural landscapes.

Languages of urbanization and visions of the city
This section will focus on the representations of urban spaces and urban lives in the Americas, with special regard to the languages and the social practices that convey – or that have conveyed in the past – the idea of “making the city”. We are especially interested both in grassroots movements of urban resistance and in counter-hegemonic representations of the urban space. We welcome contributions on practices of re-appropriation of the city, on the strategies of resistance to the processes of gentrification, on the relationship between urban space and subaltern groups (minorities and/or subcultures) and on the ways in which the urban space has been represented, reimagined or invented in literature, cinema, comics, music, photography, television, visual arts.

The mediation of technologies for a new communication and representation of territory
Session S25 of the 32nd Italian Geographers Congress
The session, which is part of the 32nd Congress of Italian Geographers, will accept both theoretical and methodological proposals exploring the forms through wich ICTs, particularly the Web, have been changing the dynamics of territory representation in the last decades. Among other things, the proposal shoud focus on territorial communication forms for both political and administrative aims (the communication by and for citizens/investors) and tourist and cultural purposes (the communication by and for tourists/visitors).

Le contrôle du territoire dans la géopolitique méditerranéenne à l’époque moderne et au début de l’époque contemporaine (XVIe-première moitié du XIXe siècle)
Ces journées d’études s’intéresseront à l’histoire de la Méditerranée de petits espaces et aux stratégies déployées par les États pour les contrôler. L’ambition est de reconstituer un scénario d’ensemble qui, à partir de ces petites entités, puisse contribuer à dessiner une histoire de la Méditerranée qui non seulement n’ignore pas les petits territoires en son sein, mais qui leur restitue l’importance qu’ils ont pu avoir au fil des siècles.

Migration, circulations et Italianité (XIXe-XXIe) siècle
L’émigration italienne à travers le monde depuis la fin du XIXe siècle constitue l’un des plus importants mouvements migratoires de l’histoire contemporaine. 26 millions d’Italiens ont quitté la Péninsule des années 1860 aux années 1960. Plus récemment, depuis le début des années 2000, une « nouvelle vague migratoire » d’Italiens plus qualifiés est apparue. Tant en Italie que dans les pays d’accueil, cette migration a donné lieu à une historiographie foisonnante et récemment renouvelée par les approches circulatoires ou transnationales. Ce colloque international et interdisciplinaire entend poursuivre la réflexion et les échanges en portant attention à l’articulation entre la circulation des Italiens dans le monde et leur rapport à l’Italie dans une perspective plus culturelle que politique.

Overlapping perspectives on the history of “ancient forests”
In ecological, economic and social terms, “ancient forests” play numerous roles. Their definition varies not only from country to country but also according to disciplinary fields. Studying “ancient forests” can involve separating “old-growth forests” from “ancient woodland”, forests that have disappeared and, in the case of “current forests”, those that are not actually very old at all! This conference aims to exchange views and ideas on “ancient forests” including both retrospective and prospective issues. Better understanding their past highlights the key issues of their status, protection and promotion in our current societies and opens up new perspectives about the future of « ancient forests ». Foresters, planners, developers, ecologists, biologists, agriculturalists, geographers, historians, philosophers, ethnologists, cartographers, archaeologists, archaeobotanists, sociologists etc., from all backgrounds, are invited to join this debate about our various and varying concepts of “ancient forests”.

Revolutions and Wars in the 19th and 20th Century
Research, Politics, Ethic and Militancy in the Human and Social Sciences
Le panel propose une réflexion pluridisciplinaire sur les implications éthiques de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales relativement aux conflits de toute nature dans les régions du Proche Orient et de l’Afrique islamique au cours des XIXe, XXe et XXIe siècles, pouvant amener les chercheurs à cautionner (directement ou indirectement) l’une des parties en cause. On demande aux participants de se pencher d’un côté sur les méthodologies qu’ils emploient pour échapper ou assumer le postulat épistémologique qui dérive de leur « recherche-action »: quelle recherche pour quelle militance? Et surtout : quel impact pour le bien-fondé des analyses proposées ? D’un autre côte, il est intéressant de sortir d’une définition paradigmatique de la « scientificité » de la recherche, en particulier là où elle est appelée à produire un effet direct sur les réalités qu’on prétend examiner.

Dabei inter-essieren uns die Herkunft, die Ausbildung, die Beziehungsgeflechte und die Karrieren dieses Personals ebenso wie die institutionelle Genese seiner Ämter und Aufgaben.

La Méditerranée : jeunes, migrations et développement
L'objectif du colloque est de montrer les nouvelles perspectives de recherche qui se dessinent sur la jeunesse, la migration et le développement dans la Méditerranée, en utilisant une approche interdisciplinaire. Le colloque vise à réunir les membres de la communauté scientifique, les acteurs du monde institutionnel et de la société civile qui s’intéressent aux jeunes, aux migrations et au développement en Méditerranée. En particulier, le colloque a pour but principal de fournir un large aperçu de la recherche actuelle sur trois populations définies : les descendant-e-s de migrant-e-s (dites « les secondes générations ») ; les enfants de réfugiés ; les mineurs non accompagnés.
