  Inclusiveness in an ageing society

  The 6th International REIACTIS Conference

  La quête d’une société inclusive dépasse la seule question des aînés et rejoint le rapport des sociétés contemporaines à la diversité. Si le vieillissement des individus et des populations peut induire des spécificités dans les rapports à autrui et à l’environnement, il n’est pas appréhendé ici comme un phénomène hermétique aux autres données, souvent cumulatives, reliées aux processus d’exclusion tels le genre, les situations de handicap, l’origine ethnique, ou encore le niveau socio-économique. Une société inclusive pose d’emblée la question de l’Autre différent. Dans le cadre de son VI^e colloque mondial, le REIACTIS invite les chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales, les décideurs politiques et les citoyens à se réunir sur la scène internationale pour mettre en débat et baliser les enjeux d’une société inclusive.

  Expressions of emotions : description and interpretation

  Emotions are multimodal responses. They manifest themselves in experience, physiology and behaviour – e.g. in social interaction. Emotional behaviours include the so-called expressions of emotions. Now, expressions are directly accessible to others, in contrast to private experience and the greatest part of physiology. On the one hand, expressions can be seen as symptomatic signs of an organic state or as conventional signs embedded in social interactions. On the other hand, they can be interpreted as acts that transform the situation, doing, as it were, a work on it. Considered as signs or acts, expressions of emotions can be studied experimentally in the laboratory or naturalistically in the field, as well as through a variety of corpora made of texts, videos, films, etc.
