Les lieux de naissance, de travail, de vacances, etc. deviennent ainsi autant de points sur une carte d’identités qui qualifie chacun et chacune. Dialogiquement, chacun et chacune habitent le monde aussi bien que le monde habite en eux : tous sont ainsi faits des lieux fréquentés, imaginés, rêvés, etc. Le lien entre habiter et constructions identitaires est ainsi établi. Il est l’un des cœurs du Géopoint 2020, qui se tiendra à Amiens, et de ses questionnements ; qu'est-ce qu'être habitant ? Qui habite et comment ? Quels effets pour quels styles d'habiter et comment les mesurer ? Être habitant, n'est-ce pas aussi cohabiter ?

Feeding others, feeding oneself: food and power from Antiquity to Middle Ages
L’histoire de l’alimentation a été beaucoup explorée durant les vingt dernières années, selon des approches variées allant d’une très classique analyse économique au vaste champ de l’anthropologie historique. Les enjeux de pouvoir représentés par la maîtrise du ravitaillement ainsi que par la redistribution de la nourriture, voire ses usages symboliques, ne sont naturellement pas non plus un domaine vierge. Cependant, ces thématiques mériteraient peut-être de se voir accorder une place plus centrale que cela n’a été le cas jusqu’à présent, et c’est là l’ambition du colloque « Nourrir, se nourrir : enjeux de pouvoir de l’Antiquité au Moyen Âge », organisé à Amiens les 18 et 19 novembre 2019 : reprendre ces questions à nouveaux frais dans une perspective diachronique allant de la période archaïque à la fin du Moyen Âge.

Equality or special statuses?
Cet appel à contribution invite à réfléchir à la notion de justice fiscale en la confrontant à celles d'égalité et de statuts particuliers. Il s'agit de comparer sur ces questions parfois techniques le point de vue des historiens du droit, des fiscalistes, des sociologues, des philosophes et des théoriens du droit, dans une approche résolument pluridisplinaire.

The family, a subject for investigation
Family, as guarantor of moral values and social control, has long been seen as a pillar of society. Marginal behaviours (such as children born out of wedlock or single mothers) and/or any changes to what was perceived as the norm were often seen as threats. Policy makers and public authorities thus started to order and organize inquiries through surveys to apprehend and understand these behaviours. The aim was to be able to set up adequate policies to fight against what was perceived as possible attacks on family as an institution.

An Environmental History of the Great War
We intend to bring together an international group of 20 to 30 graduate students working on military, cultural, social, and environmental history of the First World War from 2nd to 7th July 2018. Over the course of the week, they will have opportunity to get to know each other, but also a wide range of internationally recognized academic experts. Guided tours on excursions to French and Belgian sites are an integral part of the program and will enrich the participants' experience.

The Amiens conference - March 1968. Fifty years on
Réunissant plus de 600 personnes, chercheurs, intellectuels, praticiens, administrateurs et représentants de la société civile, dont de nombreuses personnalités, issues de la Haute fonction publique, des mondes de l’éducation, de la presse et de l’entreprise, « le colloque d’Amiens » est devenu, à l’ombre de Mai 68, une référence mythique, mais n’a donné lieu à aucune étude globale. En le situant dans son contexte socio-politique national et international, cette manifestation scientifique propose une analyse pluridisciplinaire du jeu des acteurs et des institutions qui ont contribué au déroulement du colloque et des propositions de transformation du système éducatif, miroirs des débats passés et présents, et les effets à long terme de celles-ci.

L'objectif du colloque est de réfléchir sur les salles de spectacles construites à l'initiative de l'État, afin de déterminer les spécificités entourant leur construction, leur embellissement, leur fonctionnement, leur police, leur programmation, etc. Le souhait des organisateurs est de mobiliser autour de ce thème des chercheurs de tous les champs disciplinaires qui peuvent s'y intéresser, juristes, politistes, historiens du droit, historiens des lettres, historiens de l'art, sociologues, etc.

The objective of the symposium is to reflect on the theaters built at the initiative of the State to determine the specifics surrounding their construction, beautification, their functioning, their police, their programming, etc. The desire of the organizers is to mobilize around this theme researchers from all disciplines who may be interested, lawyers, political scientists,legal historians, letters, historians, art historians, sociologists, etc.

The "Face" of First World War Battlefields and Battles
The centenary in 2016 of the two iconic battles of the First World War – Verdun and the Somme – leads us to reconsider battles and battlefields in the historiography of the First World War. Since John Keegan’s pioneering Face of Battle (1976), generations of historians have expanded our understanding of the experience of combat, as well as our knowledge of the literary and artistic representations of the battlefield. The way we think about the legacy of battles in the memory of the First World War around the world, too, has changed. Our week in Verdun and Péronne will not only give us time to reflect on the current state of research on the battles of the First World War and discover the most recent advancements in battlefield archeology and environmental history of warfare, but also confront these readings with on-the-ground visits to the sites studied.

First Moments in the First World War
En articulant échelles individuelles et collectives, l’intention de ce colloque résolument comparatif est de repenser la question des expériences de guerre vécues par les contemporains et la manière dont ceux-ci les perçoivent, les endurent puis les « construisent » à partir d’une expérience originelle jugée le plus souvent fondatrice pour en proposer une histoire sociale et culturelle, ouverte sur les autres sciences sociales. Derrière la question des « premières fois » et des « initiations » dans la guerre de 1914-1918, c’est bien une interrogation sur le « pouvoir des commencements » que le colloque souhaite déployer. Il s’agit donc depuis l’individu jusqu’aux sociétés plongées dans la guerre, de penser la rupture et la nouveauté radicale que représenta, pour ses contemporains, celle qu’on appela, dès 1914, la Grande Guerre.

Initiations? The Experience of Modern War (1853-2013)
Call for Posters for the Summer Institute of the Historial Research Centre
From June 30 to July 5, 2014, the Historial de la Grande Guerre will host both an international conference and a Summer Institute for young researchers at the masters and doctoral levels. The conference, “Initiations? First Moments in the First World War,” will be held from June 30 to July 2. The Summer Institute will run from June 30 through July 5. The conference welcomes 30 specialists of the First World War, and the Institute provides the opportunity for 30 young scholars to join them in Péronne. The Summer Institute seeks to broaden the themes introduced by the conference by widening the temporal scope to include all modern conflicts, from the Crimea through the wars of the 21st century.

Beginnings, starting and initiation: the "first times of the Great War"
Après un colloque organisé en novembre 2011 et consacré aux anticipations et imaginations de la guerre avant 1914, le centenaire de la Grande Guerre est l’occasion pour le Centre international de recherche de l’Historial de la Grande Guerre de revenir sur les modalités et les conditions de découverte, de perception, de compréhension et d’interprétation du conflit par les acteurs sociaux en se penchant sur ce que furent pour eux, tout au long du conflit, les expériences primordiales, dans les deux sens que peut avoir ce mot.
