  L’avenir de l’Union économique et monétaire

  Une perspective franco-allemande

  Les droits publics Français et Allemand conçoivent de manière différente le couplage entre la politique et l’économique. La terminologie développée par les publicistes ainsi que la teneure des débats de société sont un premier révélateur de cette divergence. Du côté allemand, on dispose d’une idée assez approfondie de la notion de constitution économique, tandis que du côté français, cette notion paraît beaucoup moins développée au profit d’une idée de gouvernement économique qui, par contre, manque de reconnaissance scientifique et politique en Allemagne. Les lacunes terminologiques indiquent des divergences conceptuelles notables. Les efforts pour établir une base scientifique commune et créer un ensemble de principes et de règles pour l’avenir de l’Union économique et monétaire européenne – si nécessaires en temps de crise – risquent donc de se heurter à une incompréhension entre deux partenaires importants au cœur de l’Europe.

  Regional producers or global players? The internationalization of companies in the 19th and 20th centuries

  An international conference on economic history dealing with the question "Regional producers or global players ?" will take place in Mainz on October 6-7 2014. Until now neglected, research on the economic history of the Rhineland-Palatine area will be presented. However, the conference is not limited on the history of this region - in fact, companies from this origin will be compared to producers from other regions and countries. The increasing internationalization of companies is currently an important field of research among historians. From the second half of the 19th century to World War I, the interdependence of the West European economy grew strongly. In the second half of the 20th century, we can observe another globalization push. We were able to win internationally renowned researchers for the papers.
