Vienne : art-s-pentages d’une ville-monde
Parcourir Vienne, c’est se confronter aux arts à chaque coin de rue. Souhaitant mettre en regard les perspectives de la ville des arts et celle de la ville-monde, notre manifestation se propose comme un art-pentage de Vienne. Arpenter, c’est-à-dire explorer l’espace physique de la ville et son lien aux arts, mais aussi découvrir l’espace mythique que la création artistique y a construit.

Oratures / créatures : fictions animales et performances décoloniales
Aux XIXe et XXe siècles, de nombreux récits issus de traditions orales ont été recueillis par des acteurs coloniaux et intégrés aux systèmes littéraires et savants européens. Souvent présentées comme des témoignages à « sauver » d’un patrimoine en voie de disparition, ces « oratures » (Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, 1986) ont circulé sous des formes éditoriales variées – recueils de contes, fables, proverbes – au prix d’une perte de leur dimension performative et d’un effacement de leurs contextes sociaux d’origine. Cette extraction a contribué à invisibiliser les médiations (traduction, sélection, réécriture, illustration) et les réseaux d’acteurs impliqués. Le colloque entend interroger ces processus à partir d’un objet spécifique : les oratures animalières.

Rereading, (re)emergence, appropriation: What is to be done with the art of the past?
The writings of art historians, like the works of art themselves, are a place of emergence, return, and incessant reinterpretation. This dialogue between periods at the heart of both artistic creation and the narrative of our discipline will be the subject of the 2026 edition of the Ecole de Printemps. Proposals for papers could present case studies, where a work or body of work quotes, repeats, adopts, or readapts earlier images, objects, or monuments. They might analyse historiographical reinterpretations by considering them as transhistorical interventions and reappropriations – whether textual, visual or museum-based.

The Art Museum in the Digital Age (2026)
This international online conference explores the complex interrelations between truth, fake and falsified information, and knowledge authority in the context of digital transformation processes. In light of increasing disinformation, AI-generated content, and algorithmic bias, museums face the challenge of rethinking their role as trusted spaces for knowledge dissemination. At the same time, digital technologies open up new possibilities for participation, contextualization, and translation. At the heart of the conference is the question of how museums can assume digital responsibility and actively contribute to fostering an open and reflective information culture.

Monasteries and religious communities in the Alps from the Middle Ages to the present day
History, landscape, architecture and enhancement of cultural heritage
Volume 31/2026 of Histoire des Alpes – Storia delle Alpi – Geschichte der Alpen wishes to dedicate its Dossier to the theme of monasteries and religious communities in the Alpine region. While the history of regular communities was largely investigated from the second half of the 19th century until the first years of the 20th century, in particular thanks to the impetus of members of the clergy who devoted themselves to collecting, transcribing and translating archives, as well as publishing monographs, there has been a revival of interest in this subject over the last few decades in the Alps and Pre-Alps, driven in particular by archaeologists, by the diversification of issues concerning the religious world and, locally, by the desire of the public authorities to broaden the range of the tourism offer by promoting local heritage.

Conservation-restoration of embroidered textiles from the Renaissane to the 19th century
Technè, n°60, 2025-2
The study of embroidered textiles presents several points of interest: research may focus on the embroidery itself (materials, techniques, patterns), its supporting medium (nature, composition of materials, type of weaving), as well as the relationships between these two fields. We aim to identify topics of discussion by juxtaposing ancient texts with materials analysis; to present examples of the conservation of embroidered textiles with an emphasis on the choice of technical protocols; and to consider the difficult problem of exhibiting these rare and precious textiles.

En donnant la possibilité de présenter leurs travaux dans un cadre international, nous souhaitons pouvoir offrir aux jeunes chercheur·se·s des regards complémentaires sur leur sujet.

A review of historical discourses, planning decisions and conservation strategies
This interdisciplinary conference, realised by the Vienna University of Technology in cooperation with the University of Bamberg (KDWT), and the research network UrbanMetaMapping asks: Which phenomena in society, planning and heritage conservation accompanied historical transformation processes of cities and, above all, (how) did they interact? What insights can be drawn from the observation of historical processes and what can be derived from them for current developments? The focus of interest lies on historical processes of evaluation, selection, and planning in the historic building stock and the discourses of different players - individuals, institutions, or organisations - that accompanied these processes. Also to be examined are the effects of planning and conservation decisions not only on the built but also on the social structure of cities.

The Art Museum in the Digital Age
The Belvedere Research Center is continuing its conference series on the digital transformation of art museums with its fifth event on the topic. While the 2022 conference challenged binary concepts such as analog/ digital, this year’s event critically examines the imagined cultural metaverse. In four thematic online sessions and an on-site workshop, the lectures deal with the immersive experiences of virtuality and reality, cultural heritage data, value discourse surrounding the metaverse and NFTs, and self-perception and the social role of museums.

Ce qu’il reste de la RDA : une bibliothèque est-allemande à Nantes
Jusqu’en juin 2021, la bibliothèque de Lettres de Nantes Université possédait dans l’un de ses magasins environ 850 ouvrages non répertoriés, liés par leur origine est-allemande. Cet ensemble n’avait encore jamais fait l’objet d’aucune attention. Afin de marquer l’entrée de ce fonds dans les collections de la bibliothèque universitaire de lettres grâce au catalogage des ouvrages, nous souhaitons en proposer une première exploration scientifique lors d’une journée d’études. L’objectif est à la fois de faire revivre le contexte dans lequel ce fonds a été constitué, d’éclairer les thématiques pertinentes pour ce corpus et de présenter certains ouvrages-clé de façon plus approfondie.

"The grass is always greener" - gardens and politics
Franco-German histories, experiences and perspectives
Le CEREG (EA 4223) de l’Université de Nanterre, l’équipe de recherche « Mondes allemands » (EA 1577) de l’Université Paris VIII Vincennes Saint-Denis, l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles et la fondation Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau organisent, du 14 au 16 mai 2020 un colloque franco-allemand sur le thème « “Sortir de l’enclos” : jardins et politique(s). Histoires, expériences et perspectives franco-allemandes ». Il s'agira de s’interroger sur les liens qu’ont entretenus, depuis le XVIIe siècle, les jardins avec la politique en France et en Allemagne, mais aussi d’examiner de récentes initiatives où le jardin, compris comme processus vivant, se transforme en lieu d’expression de la démocratie et de la citoyenneté. L’histoire des deux pays, parfois adverse et souvent intimement mêlée, incite en effet à tendre des miroirs pour révéler des mouvements et aspirations profondes des deux sociétés, étudier les contrastes et transferts mutuels, et croiser les études de terrain dans ce domaine encore peu exploré qu’est l'art comparé des jardins.

Art et religion en Allemagne après 1945
Ce colloque propose d’explorer les interactions entre art et religion chrétienne, art et Église depuis 1945, en se concentrant sur le cas allemand. En se basant sur des parcours d’artistes et des analyses d’œuvres, il s’agira d’étudier les significations d’un recours massif, dans un certain nombre d’œuvres d’artistes, en particulier est-allemands, aux formats et motifs traditionnels de l’art religieux ; l’évolution de ce phénomène dans le temps et l’espace ; les filiations et courants artistiques dans lesquels s’inscrivent ces œuvres ; le rôle joué par la commande et le mécénat et les motivations qui sous-tendent ces derniers ; la constitution de collections et les formes de soutien aux artistes ; la réception de ces œuvres.
