18th issue of "Verbum et Lingua"

Issue 18 of Verbum et Lingua will publish research and reflection articles on Situated Teaching. We welcome articles that focus on the various emerging pedagogical practices in language teaching that embrace experiential, reflective practice, situated projects,problem-based learning, etc. This paradigm presents new challenges for schools, teachers and learners and raises a series of questions: What consequences does this pedagogical proposal imply for teachers, both in their training and in their practice? What consequences does it represent for the learner? How does it transform the school in its relationship with society?

Verbum et Lingua journal - issue devoted to Peter Handke

The 17th issue of the journal Verbum et Lingua will publish contributions on the Austrian-born Nobel Prize winner (2019) Peter Handke. Works are expected on all his work: from the very early experimental type and his intermediate phase in which he returns to the traditional forms of epic narrative and literary models with a clear philosophical influence. In the last part of his work, wide poetry of the narrative that links all the texts to each other stands out. Among the main themes of his work, the reality of war, the relationship between image and writing, text and film, and the social and media development of modernity predominate.

Thinking the Latin American right wings

IVth International Congress

The IV^th International Congress Thinking the Latin American right wings follows the three previous ones held in France (2014), Argentina (2016) and Brazil (2018), which have permitted the constitution of a community of researchers working on Latin American right-wings. Several specialists from different countries and disciplines have joined in this network, in order to promote projects and studies on this theme, and stimulated the development of new issues related to this political family. The use of various methodologies such as the analysis of political traditions and cultures, representations and imaginaries, identities, networks, sensitivities and memories have made it possible to consolidate a field of study that has become relevant to understand current Latin American political scene.

Ex-voto: international perspectives

Des experts internationaux se réunissent pour commenter la particularité de l'objet votif. L'ex-voto peut être défini comme un remerciement que les croyants font à une divinité, mais les pratiques dévotionnelles révèlent une complexité dans l'usage du votif. Des chercheurs travaillant en France, au Japon, au Moyen Orient et au Mexique proposent d'interroger et d'expliquer cette matérialité qu'impose l'ex-voto. Durant ce symposium, seront analysés l'amplitude votive, les modalités de l'écriture du voeu, les créations actuelles qui perpétuent et subvertissent la tradition iconographique et thématique, ainsi que les diverses perspectives pour la conservation et la valorisation de l'ex-voto.

Le projet du colloque sera d'examiner le regard sur l'Autre, français ou états-uniens de la part de voyageurs mexicains, politiques, intellectuels et anonymes pouur la période 1821-1950 sur la base d'écrits du for intérieur : correspondances, journaux intimes, mémoires, sans exclure les chroniques et les documents publiés dans la presse mexicaine sur la France et les États-Unis de la période considérée.

Revista “La región central”, vol. 1 no. 1

This first issue of La región central explores the idea of intervention: reciprocal interventions between cinema and contemporary art, but also interventions on the social sphere that may help think the political dimension of contemporary art practices. We propose a monographic issue attending to the political dimension of cinema and contemporary art relations through theoretical and more practical, case oriented critical approaches. We seek to interrogate not just the textual dimensions or phenomenological frames of apprehension of moving images, but also their poetics of production and their potential to critically intervene the social sphere.

Ethnographical restitution and children - policies, processes and postures

8th edition of the Les apports de l'anthropologie de l'enfance methodology seminar

La notion de restitution est ici entendue dans un sens large ; elle désigne aussi bien un dispositif conçu dès les débuts du terrain et qui vise à partager les fruits du travail effectué avec les acteurs que les échanges quotidiens, apparemment anodins, les « services » rendus par l’anthropologue durant et après le terrain ou encore les échanges matériels et immatériels entre les uns et les autres. Si la dimension politique de la restitution est incontournable, la réflexion à son sujet ne peut cependant s’y limiter. Il s’agit ici de décomposer, à partir d’expériences de terrain ethnographique dans lesquelles sont impliqués des enfants, ce qui constitue la restitution, ses différentes formes, ses temporalités, et ses effets au long cours, à la fois chez les acteurs et chez l’anthropologue.

La preservación digital es un tema que atañe a bibliotecas, archivos, museos y galerías y que hasta ahora se ha trabajado de forma aislada. Se han buscado soluciones parciales y fragmentarias, sin embargo, cada vez es más evidente la necesidad de emprender proyectos de colaboración para crear estrategias, investigaciones y plataformas digitales que sean comunes para colecciones librarias, impresas, sonoras, audiovisuales y fotográficas. No es posible seguir manteniendo silos digitales, es necesario que las instituciones de la memoria se comuniquen y diseñen las estrategias a través de las cuales se garantice la permanencia de los contenidos a largo plazo. Bajo estas consideraciones se llevará a cabo el II congreso internacional de archivos digitales. Conectando los saberes de bibliotecas, archivos, museos y galerías para la preservación digital.

Cette école thématique vise à former et à mettre en discussion les apports des études environnementales américaines au champ des sciences humaines et sociales en France, du point de vue des innovations méthodologiques, conceptuelles et épistémologiques. L’interdisciplinarité réunit les outils fondamentaux de ces journées, en proposant un dialogue qui mobilise toutes les sciences sociales. Les participations des étudiants américanistes et latino-américanistes seront privilégiées. Lors de cette nouvelle édition, les jeunes chercheurs seront invités à discuter leurs travaux dans le cadre d’ateliers méthodologiques proposés par des experts invités. C’est grâce au travail de l’UMI EGlobes du CNRS que cette année les JJA se tiendront dans le cadre d’un dispositif d’école thématique du CNRS.
