I Cine Bárbaras – International Conference on Cinema and Audiovisual
The call for papers is now open for the I Cine Bárbaras – International Conference on Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, which will take place on October 23 and 24, 2025, at the Lusófona University – Porto University Centre. This conference is a space for critical reflection and debate dedicated to gender studies and feminist film theories. The conference will address topics such as representativity, representation, feminisms in cinema, intersectionality, and the role of women and other marginalized identities in film creation and exhibition.

Fifth International Congress on Desert Economy
This congress is an interdisciplinary scientific research platform on the desert, arid lands, and the Sahara (hot drylands, hyperarid or semi-arid regions, oasis and remote rural areas) economy, management, and development, in order to contribute effectively to the good governance and in the sustainable development of arid lands worldwide, by stimulating meetings between all stakeholders on a global scale, with a view to fostering dialog, partnership, and cooperation among desert countries worldwide: Africa and the Gulf States (the MENA and the Sahel...), the United States of America, Australia, China, India, South America..., and creating a conducive environment to the exchange of experiences, expertise, trainings, educational practices and innovation, around themes related to the desert economy and to the arid lands management.

Development archives: production, use and politicization
Revue internationale des études du développement n°256 (2024-3)
The first aim of this Special Issue is methodological: the renewed interest in development archives raises questions, particularly among young researchers, about how to identify, collect, and use them, and about their limits. The special issue will thus offer a set of methodological reference points to anyone wishing to use such archives. The second aim will be to lay the foundations for a more ambitious project to study development archives from a perspective at the crossroads of “connected history” and “global historical sociology”.

Edición y traducciones medievales
La universidad de Salamanca, Sorbonne Université y la École normale supérieure de Lyon se unen por primera vez para reflexionar conjuntamente acerca de las ediciones de textos medievales y humanistas. Frente al auge de trabajos doctorales cuyo tema es la edición (digital o no) de un texto medieval, este programa se ha concebido como una oportunidad para comparar metodologías y cruzar experiencias distintas. Durante este primer encuentro, en la universidad de Salamanca, los hispanistas franceses y los filólogos salmantinos se centrarán más precisamente en las ediciones de traducciones medievales.

1921-2021 - From the Revue de Botanique Appliquée journal to the Revue d'Ethnoécologie journal
Le 15 mai 1921, Auguste Chevalier lançait le premier numéro du premier volume de la Revue de botanique appliquée et d’agriculture coloniale. Roland Portères a repris sa publication en 1954 sous le nom de Journal d'agriculture tropicale et de botanique appliquée, qui paraît jusqu’en 2000. L'entreprise s'est poursuivie en 2012 par le lancement de l’actuelle Revue d’ethnoécologie, qui veut s'inscrire dans cette longue lignée scientifique replacée dans le mouvement international des sciences humaines. Plus que des choix éditoriaux, les modifications successives du titre reflètent le glissement des champs de recherche : botanique appliquée (dite Economic botany dans le monde anglophone), agronomie coloniale, agronomie tropicale, agriculture traditionnelle, ethnobotanique et ethnozoologie, ethnobiologie, ethnoécologie. Nous avons là un siècle d’une pensée singulière d’études renouvelées des relations au vivant qui, d’un point de vue éditorial, a su s’épanouir au Muséum national d’histoire naturelle.

5th congress of the International Ergology Society
La démarche de l’ergologie offre-t-elle une approche pertinente dans le champ des questions intégrant le travail, le patrimoine et le développement ? Dans quelle mesure sa contribution est-elle singulière et innovante ? Afin d’établir un bilan et de tracer des perspectives, le principal objectif du cinquième congrès de la Société internationale d’ergologie (SIE) est de mettre en débats, au cours de trois journées, les travaux qui, en plusieurs lieux du monde, ont fait l’option de s’engager dans cette réflexion, tout en ayant parfois privilégié auparavant d’autres cadres de référence. La diversité des approches constituera un atout essentiel de cette rencontre qui se veut donc pluridisciplinaire.

Social networks occupy today an unprecedented centrality in developed societies. They are one of the most important components in the structure of social relations between people and organizations, through which they share values, expectations, interests and an immensity of flows that place them at a high level of complexity. Knowing and understanding this complexity, as well as the social networks and the multiplicity of configurations that are inherent to them, is one of the biggest challenges of our times. Today, talking about social networks, puts us on a new paradigm in the social sciences. In the dynamics of social relations, the actors involved in it, develop their interactions driven by diverse logics and strategies of action, putting challenges in their analysis and understanding to social intervenors and the academic community. It is in this context that the 2nd edition of CIReS.

Afin d’établir un bilan et de tracer des perspectives, cet appel à communications pour le IVe c ongrès de la Société internationale d’ergologie (SIE) - qui aura lieu à Brasilia, Brésil, les 27, 28 et 29 août 2018 - s’appuie sur la diversité des travaux des différents groupes dans le monde qui mènent des recherches en convoquant la démarche ergologique. Rappelons que les recherches qui se réclament de la démarche ergologique ne sauraient se réduire aux seuls travaux menés dans un cadre universitaire ou effectués par des chercheurs professionnels. Elles incluent par principe toutes les initiatives qui ont pour objectif d’illustrer et de développer les connaissances sur l’activité humaine.

40th annual ICOFOM symposium
It has become rather banal to speak of the museum as a place of power. Whether one refers to it as media, as medium, or as device, we must understand that this institution, emblematic of occidental civilization, has always aroused the interests of local political régimes, whatever they may be. The creation of the British Museum and the birth of the Louvre illustrate the many different ways the public has of seeing the links between knowledge and collections. Furthermore the advent of each new political régime (from democracy in America to the Marxist-Leninist system in the Soviet Union, passing by fascist Italy and national-socialist Germany) marks museums with its imprint, as well as its system of communication, preservation and research.

Face à ces réalités diverses, le IXe colloque international EchFrancia abordera une réflexion autour des conditions sociales et économiques de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales (SHS). Ce dernier portera sur l’expérience de devenir chercheur et chercheuse sous des conditions différentes.
