  Philosophy and dance in Africa and among its diasporas today

  Corpus Africana festival

  From the 27^th of October until the 10^th of November 2018 the university consortium Erasmus Mundus Europhilosophie is organising, under the title “Corpus Africana; Current philosophies and Dances in Africa and its Diasporas”, an important international meeting, aiming to bring to the heart of arts and humanities university research in Europe the knowledge and the study of “Africana Philosophy”, of choreographic knowledge that is of African or contemporary African lineage in nature. The meeting will take place at the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès as part of the research seminar “Thinking Decolonisation”, in collaboration with the James Carlès Centre of Choreography’s Festival of Dance and the Black Continents.

  The things of migration, the things of exile - status, use and becoming

  À propos des objets, Jean Baudrillard écrit qu’ils constituent des « mots de passe par excellence » (2004). À la fois communs, participant de la société de consommation, et uniques en ce qu’ils incarnent une expérience du sujet, des tactiques spécifiques d’usage dans les espaces du passage et de l’encampement, les objets sont des acteurs des liens sociaux, articulant récits et discours, participant des habitus et des recompositions en situation de migration, d’exil et de transmission. Paradoxalement, alors qu’ils assignent une identité à l’exilé/au migrant dans les médias et l’espace public et constituent, in fine, la seule trace matérielle d’un déplacement spatial et culturel subsistant bien au-delà de l’expérience du sujet dans des sphères diversifiées (du foyer au musée), les objets dans la migration et l’exil restent encore trop peu abordés.
