Memories, Uses and Critical Issues
Organized within the CollEx-Persée Digitization program, this conference invites critical, collective and interdisciplinary reflection on the transformations induced by digitization in research practices and scholarly uses. How do choices of corpora, tools or formats shape research practices? What kind of memory of science is thus produced, made visible, or, on the contrary, devalued? What mechanisms—existing or in development—can ensure that the digitization of academic literature effectively supports research practices, whether traditional or emerging?

Call for papers - Science studies
This symposium is a direct extension of the “Fiction & Social Sciences” meeting organized in May 2024, dedicated to contemporary articulations between fiction devices and social science methodologies. The exchanges initiated on this occasion made it possible to deepen already long-standing reflections on the relationships of competition, tension, but also complementarity between academic and fictional writing, paying particular attention to emerging practices such as fictional investigation. The central challenge was to analyze how the hybridization between the documentary and fictional genres shifts the ways of investigating, writing and reproducing research results.

Initiated by a group of young artist-researchers from the Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen and the University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès (UT2J), the project Poietics and Politics of the Pluriverse, Part II: Revolutions, Research-Crea[c]tions and Possible Worlds aims to provide a space to expand and break down the boundaries of thought and creation. Focusing on revolutions (political, but also artistic, scientific, metaphysical…), “research-crea[c]tion” and possible worlds, this second conference will further explore the poietics, politics and cosmologies of the Pluriverse. It will bring together researchers and “artivists” for workshops, performances, academic presentations and discussions open to the public.

A Comparative Perspective Between Africa, Europe, and the Americas (19th and 20th Centuries)
This international conference seeks to explore the links between confinement and health from a comparative and transnational perspective, bringing into dialogue African, European, and American experiences from the nineteenth to the twentieth century. It aims to examine the ambivalence of these institutions, situated at the intersection of care and coercion, as well as the social, racial, and gendered hierarchies they helped to produce and maintain.

Publics, Power and Perspectives
This workshop seeks to examine refigured archiving work currently undertaken in Africa as well as to learn more about the ways in which this refigures scholarship. Introducing the concept of the ‘archival commons’, it particularly aims at studying diverse forms of archiving as common, communal or communing practices that have significant effects on both preservation and critical historical work.

Gender-Based Violence: Mixed and Intersectional Analysis of a Heterogeneous Phenomenon on the Rise
Gender based violence (GBV) has emerged as a multidimensional and increasingly heterogeneous field of inquiry, requiring renewed epistemological, theoretical, and methodological engagement across the social and human sciences. This interdisciplinary call for papers seeks contributions that critically interrogate the evolving configurations of GBV through mixed, intersectional, and context sensitive approaches. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and encouraging contributions grounded in robust theoretical frameworks and rigorous empirical inquiry, this call aims to advance scholarly understanding of GBV and to inform the development of more effective prevention strategies, institutional responses, and public policies.

Artificial Intelligence: From Militarization to Peacebuilding
“Communications” Journal (2028)
The journal Communications is launching a call for papers for a special issue on alternative approaches to artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on peacebuilding and breaking away from the militarization and surveillance logics associated with AI, robotics, and automation. As a dual-use technology with both civilian and military applications, AI is shaped by the military-industrial complex. Contributions will seek to analyze geopolitical, epistemic, and economic power relations, while advancing social justice and sustainability. The call encourages an interdisciplinary approach, including philosophy, sociology, history, STS, anthropology, political science, political economy, and humanities.

Clara journal and guest editors Eliyahu Keller and Uri Wegman are launching a new call for papers on the theme Uncertainties for the thematic section of issue 14, to be published in early 2028. Clara #14 seeks to explore the architectural manifestations of uncertainty, probability, and chance around four distinct yet interrelated themes: measurement and tools, negotiation, representation, and narratives.

Body awareness: therapy, practice, pedagogy
The theme of body awareness has been chosen for this conference, given the marked resurgence of interest in "reconnecting" with the body and sensations in our contemporary societies. We will concentrate on the different areas where body awareness offers new perspectives of practice and research, from healthcare to education, including the arts and sports. However, the increased visibility of this concept has also led to a proliferation of discourses and practices lacking any real conceptual or methodological foundation. These are often driven by the growing popularity of alternative or New Age approaches. The aim of this conference is to clarify the current situation by distinguishing between knowledge and practices that are supported by research and those that are not.

Les changements des habitus culinaires au Cameroun
Culinary habits in Cameroon are now deeply influenced by globalization and urbanization, leading to a revision and sometimes a distortion of traditional recipes. The introduction of foreign products and the adoption of faster food practices have changed the habits of Cameroonians. These changes affect the transmission of culinary heritage to younger generations and jeopardize the preservation of traditional cuisine, considered a valuable intangible heritage. This call for papers explores the impact of globalization on food practices, public health, and the local economy. It also raises the question of how Cameroonian cuisine can adapt to modern realities, taking into account the tension between the modernization of recipes and the preservation of culinary cultural identity.

Cet appel à contribution se propose d’interroger les usages et significations des idées de « progrès » et d’« innovation » - qu’elles soient en rapport avec la technologie, l’économie, la politique, la religion ou la culture - au cours du long XVIIIe siècle et leurs impacts sur les pratiques sociales. Il s’attachera à mesurer les effets de l’innovation sous toutes ses formes (technique, politique, économique, artistique, littéraire, etc.) sur les sociabilités dans les sociétés européennes et coloniales. Il sera également intéressant d’envisager la sociabilité elle-même comme une innovation conceptuelle et sociale.
