Lá epoca del espacio. Estado y nuevas perspectivas
Los próximos días 8, 9 y 10 de abril tendrá lugar en la universidad de Santiago de Compostela el congreso internacional "Lá epoca del espacio. Estado y nuevas perspectivas", en donde se darán cita investigadores de todo el mundo para debatir en torno "giro espacial" de las humanidades en la segunda mitad del siglo pasado. Este evento interdisciplinar reunirá a geógrafos, filólogos, historiadores, filósofos y demás disciplinas interpeladas para revisar el estado actual de las spatial humanities, poner en común diferentes acercamientos y métodos de investigación y debatir acerca de su futuro.

La época del espacio. Estado y nuevas perspectivas
A lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XX se produjo una reorientación de la mirada humana y del interés científico, que pasó a observar y a observarse más en el espacio que en el tiempo, como ya había ocurrido anteriormente. En los últimos años, ha crecido enormemente el interés por el estudio de las creaciones artísticas, especialmente literarias, poniendo el foco en la simbología o la relevancia de los lugares. El crecimiento de disciplinas como las mencionadas puede ser percibido a través de su contacto con otras disciplinas emergentes, como las humanidades digitales, también de reciente aparición. La simbiosis entre ellas ha dado lugar a las humanidades espaciales o al deep mapping, entre otras. Sin embargo, más allá de las nuevas metodologías o procedimientos, internet y el desarrollo de la informática también han generado nuevos hábitats, nuevas espacialidades, que nos obligan a reformular el "nido" bachelardiano y el modo en que construimos identidades en el espacio. ¿Cómo han evolucionado estas teorías en los últimos años, qué ha cambiado en nuestra concepción del término o cómo vivimos o nos relacionamos con el territorio?

What difference do DIY cultures make?
KISMIF Conference 2018 will be preceded by a Summer School entitled ‘What difference do DIY cultures make?’ (KISMIF Summer School 2018) on 3 July 2018 in Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto. The summer school will offer an opportunity for all interested persons, including those participating in the conference, to attend workshops led by specialists in these fields. Specifically, the Summer School offers thematic workshops expressly focused on the hands-on, music making, and place making of contemporary DIY cultures. Its approach will be methodological and focused on research for action.

KISMIF conference 2018
We are pleased to announce the fourth “Keep It Simple, Make It Fast!” (KISMIF) Conference which will take place in Porto, Portugal, between 3 July and 7 July 2018. This initiative follows the great success of the three past editions and brings together an international community of researchers focusing on underground music scenes and do-it-yourself culture. The 4th edition of KISMIF will focus on “Gender, differences, identities and DIY cultures”, directing its attention on gender issues relating to underground scenes and do it yourself (DIY) cultures, and their manifestation at local, translocal and virtual levels.

Il s’attache à en restituer la portée critique et souhaite soumettre à la réflexion collective la notion de droit à la ville de fait, forgée dans le cadre d’un programme de recherche collaboratif, DALVAA. Il invite donc des participants de disciplines et d’institutions variées, à engager un dialogue sur le rôle des expériences citadines dans la mise en ordre socio-spatiale des villes du Sud. -

The Center of History of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NOVA University of Lisbon, are pleased to be hosting the II meeting of REPORT(H)A - Portuguese Network of Environmental History, in 2017 Spring. The cross cutting conference theme, Environmental Changes in Historical Perspective, is inscribed in transnational and transdisciplinary approaches, a challenge to the current academic research and debate in environmental sciences and humanities.

The study and design of landscape as a methodological problem
First Iberian Colloquium on Landscape
Landscapes present themselves as sceneries we have inherited, where we live, and from where we draw the resources needed to subsist as a civilisation and as a species. The result of our actions on this heritage will be the legacy to our descendants. In the beginning of the third millennium, the interest in the topic of landscape is increasingly important, transforming this discipline in a research platform where several fields of knowledge intersect. The aim of this colloquium is to reflect about the diversity of multidisciplinary aspects, analytical methods, and intervention techniques related to the study of landscape, establishing a forum focused on the future relationship between humanity and landscape.

Lost and Transformed Cities: a digital perspective
The city is by definition a living entity. It translates itself into a collectiveness of individuals who share and act on a material, social and cultural setting. Its history is one of dreams, achievements and loss. As such, it also bears a history of identity. To know the history of cities is to understand our own place in the contemporaneity. The past is always seen through the eyes of the present and can only be understood as such. On the occasion of the 261st anniversary of the 1755 earthquake in Lisbon, we invite scholars and experts in the fields of heritage studies, digital humanities, history, history of art and information technology to share and debate their experience and knowledge on digital heritage.

El papel de las pequeñas ciudades en la construcción de la Europa Medieval
El objetivo de las Jornadas Internacionales de Edad Media es promover un área de los estudios urbanos, que de forma recurrente pero discontinua, aparece en la investigación histórica, geográfica, sociológica y antropológica siempre integrada en los temas que han sido considerados como poco atractivos o precarios. Precarios, porque cada vez que han sido abordados a escala comparativa, colisionaban con las definiciones variables del atributo que los designa. Poco atractivas, en la medida en que no es capaz de satisfacer los abordajes científicos que intentan capturar procesos de desarrollo determinantes. Conjugando varias áreas científicas, este coloquio pretende contribuir a rescatar del anonimato a las pequeñas ciudades de una Europa medieval que cada vez se percibe más "en movimiento".

Ao longo da história da civilização, as cidades oferecem-nos paradigmas. Elas personificam formas ideais de vida social; surgem como capitais de impérios, mas também como centros de uma identidade nacional, cultural e religiosa; são focos de desenvolvimento económico e político. Todas estas formas se revestem de particular interesse para este congresso. Muitas cidades podem ser consideradas paradigmáticas: Atenas ou Roma, na Antiguidade Clássica; Veneza e Florença, como reflexo das dinâmicas transformações do Renascimento; Londres, Paris e Berlim, como capitais da Modernidade; Nova Iorque, Rio de Janeiro, Tóquio ou Xangai, como epítomes das novas metrópoles em franco crescimento.

Another Music in a Different Room
Resulting from a series of developed works in the last decade within the framework of social sciences (namely Sociology of Culture, Sociology of Arts, Sociology of Youth, Urban Sociology and Sociology of Music), in this advanced seminar we will have the opportunity of deepening the understanding around the importance, functioning, process, the agents, characteristics, genres and subgenres of the current urban music scenes. The ANOTHER MUSIC IN A DIFFERENT ROOM will be a fruitful space for ideas, discussions and, therefore, for a great developments on scientific knowledge. So, it’s our intention to share all this scientific dynamic with the world in order to contribute to a larger debate on music, youth, lifestyles, culture, cultural scenes, music scenes. In this context, the ideas and discussions held in the Advanced Seminar, both by lecturers and participants, will be published in a Collaborative e-book.

Le principe des rencontres « Attilio » est, pour chaque proposition, d’associer tant que faire se peut au moins un intervenant brésilien et un intervenant français. Les communications doivent privilégier les approches franco-brésiliennes, comparatives ou permettant la mise en perspective de sujets qui seraient spécifiques à l’un des deux pays par rapport à des phénomènes comparables identifiés dans l’autre. Les rencontres doivent être l’occasion de valoriser la comparaison, l’échange d’expériences, de bonnes pratiques, de méthodes de travail, etc., grâce à un débat fécond entre les intervenants.

El evento transcurrirá entre los días 5 y 7 de Septiembre de 2013, en las instalaciones de la Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, siendo los idiomas oficiales del coloquio, el portugués y el español.
