    Arrival cities: Migrating artists and new metropolitan topographies

    Focusing on the intersections of exile, artistic practice and urban space, this international conference brings together researchers committed to revising the historiography of ‘modern’ art. Part of the ERC research project Relocating Modernism: Global Metropolises, Modern Art and Exile (METROMOD), it addresses metropolitan areas that were settled by migrant artists in the first half of the 20th century.

    On 21 and 22 March 2017, the 9th TextGrid. DARIAH User Meeting will take place at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften) in Munich. The conference focusses on digital editions and geographic data. As at the 8th User Meeting, the event will provide an opportunity for beginners to become acquainted with TextGrid by processing typical use cases.

    Cours d'allemand pour historiens d'art

    Approfondissement linguistique et introduction à la recherche scientifique germanophone

    Appel à candidatures pour un cours d'allemand spécialisé à destination de doctorants et jeunes chercheurs francophones en histoire de l'art. Le cours se déroulera sur une semaine en décembre 2011 à Munich et vise à faciliter les recherches portant sur des thématiques liées à l'espace germanophone en proposant un apprentissage de l'allemand scientifique ainsi qu'une introduction aux systèmes de bibliothèques, d'archives et de recherche en Allemagne. Ce cours s'adresse aux doctorants possédant une connaissance de base de la langue allemande ainsi qu'aux jeunes chercheurs français n'ayant pas travaillé jusqu'à présent sur une thématique germanophone. Une prise en charge partielle des frais de voyage est prévue, voir modalités dans l'annonce.

    Codicologie et paléographie à l'ère du numérique

    Kodikologie und Paläographie im digitalen Zeitalter / Codicology and Paleography in the Digital Age

    The conference will focus on the challenges and consequences of using IT and the internet for codicological and palaeographic research. The authors of some selected articles of an anthology to be published this summer by the Institute for Documentology and Scholarly Editing (IDE) will present and discuss their excellent research results with scholars and experts working on ancient books and manuscripts. A panel discussion will be held with renowned exponents in the field of codicology and palaeography and contributors of cutting edge research to get an overview of the state of the art as well as to open up new perspectives of codicological and palaeographic research in the “digital age”.
