  Mapping Ancient Gods

  ERC Advanced Grant MAP project (Mapping Ancient Polytheisms. Cult Epithets as an Interface between Religious Systems and Human Agency)

  The ERC Advanced Grant MAP project (Mapping Ancient Polytheisms. Cult Epithets as an Interface between Religious Systems and Human Agency; 741182; http://map-polytheisms.huma-num.fr1) works on the naming systems for the divine in the Greek and Western Semitic worlds, from 1000 BCE to 400 CE and views them as testimonies to the way in which divine powers are constructed, arranged and involved within ritual. The analysis deals both with the structural aspects of the religious systems and with their contextual appropriation by social participants. Considered to be elements of a complex language, the onomastic channels are related to the gods, therefore providing access to a mapping process of the divine, to its ways of representation and to the communication strategies between men and gods.Within this framework, the MAP Team proposes a Summer School in collaboration with the French Research Centre in Jerusalem (http://www.crfj.org) which covers the project’s themes and tools.

  Geoarchaeology, defined as the application of geosciences and geographical methods to prehistory, archaeology, and history, is now widely applied to study key subjects such as occupation patterns, territory and site exploitation, palaeoclimatic, palaeoenvironemental, and palaeogeographical changes, as well as anthropogenic impacts and system responses. The multidisciplinary and multiscalar dimensions of geoarchaeological approaches have encouraged continuous development and innovation of methods and approaches that have opened new possibilities for explorations in geographical sectors previously inaccessible, the development of large-scale data acquisitions and treatment, and also the development of microscopic scale analysis precision. This session will highlight global research in geoarchaeology with particular emphasis on innovative methods or cutting edge research using established approaches.

  Breaks, intersections, sharing and conflict. What diversitary approaches for the teaching of languages?

  Ce colloque cherchera à approfondir les réflexions liées aux modalités de prise en compte (ou non) de la diversité / altérité / pluralité – linguistique, culturelle et formative – telle qu’elle est perçue et interprétée dans différentes situations d'enseignement / apprentissage des langues et dans différentes recherches afférentes à ces questions. Il s'agira ainsi de croiser / confronter une diversité de points de vue ayant en commun de s'intéresser aux  enjeux et aux effets didactiques et épistémologiques d’une conception « autre » (i.e. non essentialisante et non lénifiante) de la diversité – linguistique, culturelle, formative – pour la DDL et pour les recherches relatives à ce domaine. Il s’agira également de s’interroger sur les processus et les modalités de construction des catégorisations et des interprétations produites, et notamment sur le traitement (plus ou moins explicite / explicité) du caractère pluriel, voire contradictoire de celles-ci.

  International week of Francophone archives in Hanoi, Vietnam

  Le comité directeur du PIAF (Portail international d'archivistique francophone) organise, en partenariat avec les Archives nationales de la République du Vietnam, la « semaine internationale des archives francophones » (SIAF 2) à Hanoi, Vietnam du 21 au 24 novembre 2011. Cette rencontre réunit des archivistes professionnels, des enseignants en archivistiques et des étudiants venant du Vietnam, du Laos, du Cambodge, de France, de Belgique, de Suisse, du Sénégal et du Canada. Le thème de la « pratique archivistique francophone » dans ces différents pays sera abordé sous divers angles durant une journée (le 22 novembre). Suivront deux journées de formation à l’utilisation et à l’exploitation du site du portail international d’archivistique francophone.
