  Still on the Map!

  Les communautés du delta du Mississippi à l’épreuve de la disparition des sols

  « Still on the Map! » prend pour cadre d’étude le delta du Mississippi quinze années après le passage de l’ouragan Katrina et environ cinq ans après la mise en service des principales nouvelles infrastructures de protection contre le risque d’inondation « centennale ». Exprimé dès son titre – un énoncé de résistance / résilience scandé par nombre d’habitants lors des manifestations à caractère écologique en Louisiane –, ce projet de recherche ambitionne de décrire les liens et « attachements » (Latour, 2017) que différentes communautés du delta entretiennent avec leur milieu géographique en situation de forte bascule écologique, intégrant dans la définition des écosystèmes les infrastructures naturelles et artificielles du bassin hydrographique comme autant d’acteurs socio-politiques à part entière.

  This two-year fellowship in Madrid, administered by the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, is devoted to original research on nineteenth-century American paintings in the museum's permanent collection.   Institut national d'histoire de l'art avec la Terra Foundation for American Art

  L’Institut national d'histoire de l'art s'associe avec la Terra Foundation for American Art pour attribuer une bourse postdoctorale qui s'accompagne d'un accueil d'un an à l'INHA et d'une bourse de voyage. Le lauréat aura pour mission de produire une recherche inédite sur l'art américain avant 1980 donnant lieu à la publication d’un article dans l’année suivant le terme de la bourse (les missions de la Terra n'incluent pas les questions architecturales). Dans le cadre du voyage d’études effectué par le lauréat, l’INHA veillera à promouvoir la diffusion de la recherche du lauréat aux États-Unis.

  These grants provide support for publication projects on historical American art (pre-1980) that make a significant contribution to scholarship and have an international dimension. Projects may include translations of texts on American art; publications written by non-U.S. scholars or those with a significant number of non-U.S. contributors; and publications with a focused thesis exploring American art in an international context.   Post-doc dans le projet EHDLM (« Écrire l'histoire depuis les marges : le cas des Africains Américains et le devenir de l'histoire »), PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité

  Offre d'emploi du PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité concernant un post-doctorat en études africaines-américaines pour 3 ans (XIX^e-XX^e). Le / la post-doctorant(e) devra avancer sa recherche tout en concourant à l'organisation des manifestations du projet EDHML (Écrire l'histoire depuis les marges : le cas des Africains Américains et le devenir de l'histoire), soit 2 colloques, 1 séminaire et 3 journées d'étude. Le/la doctorant(e) sera basé au laboratoire CRIDAF/ Pléiade, Université Paris 13, Villetaneuse. Il (ou elle) travaillera en coordination avec les laboratoires CREW (Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle) et Paris Diderot (LARCA). Le projet porte sur l'écriture de l'histoire par les historiens noirs et les récits d'esclaves (pour l'essentiel).

  Assistant HES (Doctoral student) at Geneva School of Business Administration

  The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG-Geneva) offers a Research Assistant (Doctoral student) position for three years starting from 1^st September 2013.The doctoral student will participate to the project « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic », financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He or she will be in charge of the research components dedicated to costing around H1N1. This comparative study will involve qualitative fieldwork in three countries, namely Switzerland, the United States and Japan. He or she will collaborate with a post-doctoral fellow focusing on issues related to organization and communication. He or she will have to write a PhD thesis on H1N1 costing issues and will be supervised by Prof. Nathalie Brender. The project is funded for three years.

La personne recherchée a obtenu son doctorat en sociologie ou en anthropologie depuis moins de 3 ans, d'excellentes capacités à mener des terrains de recherche dans plusieurs pays, et d'un intérêt marqué pour les questions de santé globale (global health).

  Visiting Professorships at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, 2013-2015 The deadline for all professorship applications is January 15, 2013. Two professorships are available at the Courtauld Institute to present the best recent scholarship on historical American art. A twelve-week professorship requires administering one full-term course integrated with the institute’s curriculum and participating in other scholarly activities. A one-week intensive professorship entails a public scholarly event, a seminar, and a special visit to a London gallery, archive, collection, or library relevant to American art history.   Terra Foundation Research Travel Grants to the United States (2013)

  For doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars

  Six to nine grants are awarded annually to doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars outside the United States to travel to the United States for research on pre-1980 American art and visual culture. Doctoral students receive up to $6,000; postdoctoral scholars (those who received their degree within ten years of the application deadline) receive up to $9,000. Destinations and duration of travel are determined by fellows.
